Whew!

Made it down to BLADE today, I thought I wasn't going to make it this weekend but the stars were aligned in my favor!

Well I got there right at 3 and lo and behold, a huge crowd at the Busse booth... After things calmed down I ambled over and asked how this whole Hog Trough thing works, and the gentleman told me that I should stick around, another unveiling would begin at 5. At 4:15 I took up a prime spot in the first row, wary of the legendary trickery of the Hogs.

5 o'clock rolled around and I waited patiently for something that might be in my price range... Bingo! I'll have to wait a while to be able to give this hunk of steel an objective review, because I'm still giggling like a schoolgirl.

And since it's National Donut Day, an appropriate backdrop for my first Busse family purchase:

Thanks! It isn't the color scheme I'd have chosen initially if I had my way, but boy it sure is growing on me...

A little ways outside Atlanta, yep... Job interview, and I thought I might be working this weekend. But I start next week so I made it!

DowntownDM, this was the only combo I saw, but I missed the first two unveilings at 1 and 3 pm.

Nice job Dave
Now that one you will remember for
a long time...
how you battled at the trough for the Boss Jack

And what did "battling at the trough" consist of?
Smearing bacon grease on your wallet? :D

Nice Score indeed!!! Good looking color combo...

Love it. Great color combo. I have not held one yet, but I have held other straight handle models, and love them.

Nice snag!

Great Score congrats, were there very many left when you snagged yours.

I'll be honest, I was ready for anything but since I stood around the booth for about 45 minutes beforehand I had a good spot. But man, when Amy held those cards up they were spoken for quicker than she could pass them out!

kuanomar, 267 show price.

d762, the big choil versions were gone before I could blink! There were about 4 no choils left when I asked for one. Whew!

Can you further describe the "Amy held up cards" process? Is it like an auction of sorts?

As far as I can figure they throw out the cardboard sheaths for each knife and if you get a sheath it entitles you to buy the corresponding knife.
