Hi all,

Thoughts and well wishes to all involved, influenced

Now......get us on the right trail!!!!

Prayers sent out to all that were effected by it.

Prayers sent to all.

A teacher from my school was running in the marathon. He finished the marathon before the explosions. He sent an email talking about it since he got so many emails checking in on him.

Very scary, i cant belive what happened.

Thoughts and prayers with the victims and their families. I hope who ever committed this cowardly act gets what they deserve.

 :(

I had no idea, I avoid the news with ferocity...

Smoke and prayers to any and all affected.

Bad news. Devices are alleged to be homemade AP with ball bearings etc. Very very bad.

A friend of mine ran it and finished ahead of the blasts also. His wife was taking pictures about a half mile before the finish line. The worst that happened to them was their hotel was off limits for 5 hours before they could get back to their room.

What coward attacks in this manner?
Disgusting is an understatement!
Smoke for all affected and their families.

May justice be swift to those responsible. Thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by this tragedy.

its a terrible thing that happened i just cant understand how some people can do something like that. its just pure evil and theres too much of it in the world. thought and prayers to all affected

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected. It never ceases to amaze me how destructive people can be to one another. There was a quote that seemed to be everywhere yesterday after this disaster happened and I wanted to share it with all of you.

It helps to see a little good in a horrible situation.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We Bostonians are a pretty gritty hard bunch, probably becuase of the weather and the way we all drive. Its unusual to see something like this bring everyone together.

To be completely frank, I think most of us didn't ever really expect to see anything like this. Thats not to say that others should, but when you live right next door to NY you typically don't expect......

My thoughts too are with those who lost family. While cynical negative reactions toward the people who would do this are natural, there are very few of such people in the world. Those who feel something like this as a call to action, please do something positive. It doesn't even necessarily need to help those of us from Boston. Donate blood, god knows its in short supply everywhere. Make a point to be charitable even when tragedy isn't fresh.

It is always a bit heartwarming to see that, despite differences political, cultural, or otherwise, people can still come together. Thanks again everyone. I'll pass this thread along to a few friends as well.

I was waiting on the train tracks to go meet my aunt and uncle at the finish line near Copley, which we've done every year since I moved to Boston in 2005, when I got a notification on my iPhone from NY Times about the bombing. I frantically tried to reach my aunt and uncle and their phones kept going to voicemail. Luckily, I was running about 30 minutes late because I had to reboot a server from home for work. I finally got in touch with my aunt and uncle. They had started walking there, but were about a half mile away when the bombs detonated. They saw the smoke and people panicking.

I know plenty of runners and people who were at the finish line and witnessed the tragedy. A friend of mine was among the injured, but from what I have heard, he is out of the trauma ward and in recovery. One of my friends was 2 blocks away when the bombs went off and described the scene to me in detail. It was very traumatizing to him, as I'm sure you can imagine.

My prayers go out to the families of the deceased and the injured, especially those who lost limbs or are still in critical condition at the various trauma centers in Boston.

From what I understand, the emergency response was fantastic. A big thanks goes out to all of the first responders and good Samaritans who helped to save lives by caring for and triaging the injured and by getting people out of the area during the tragedy.

As I was writing this, another NY Times article popped up, saying that the FBI have a potential suspect. They are analyzing the photos and videos taken by security cameras and cell phones frame by frame with facial recognition software. Let's hope they find the person(s) responsible for this tragedy. If anyone was in the area and has photos or videos, I urge you to send them to the FBI investigators.

They've made an arrest, or at least thats what they're saying on CNN, and other news organizations.

edit- now they're saying that an arrest hasn't been made, but have the person on video and in pictures.
