Boston

Thoughts and prayer to those affected!
Unforgiving to those responsible! A child was killed! This makes me sick! Her family needs our prayers!

Agreed. It's despicable. A 5 year old boy is still in critical condition at the trauma center at Children's Hospital. The bombs were crude, but they were designed to shoot bearings, nails and other shrapnel. It makes me sick to think about it.

Thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by the events in Boston!!

Thank you, Pokey. It really means a lot. I just spoke with my friend. He's healing up, but it's going to be a long road. I didn't know this until I spoke with him a moment ago, but a piece of shrapnel cut into his thigh. Thankfully, it did not cause any permanent damage and didn't hit any major arteries. Forgive me if this is disturbing to anyone; I just feel like I need to talk about it to not go crazy. The incident at the marathon, along with the Newtown shooting, has seriously damaged my faith in humanity. I am trying to stay positive. I grew up a few towns over and drove through Newtown shortly after the shooting when I was visiting family around Christmas; it chilled me to the bone to see the memorials.

Ryan you do not have to apologize for talking! That is what we are all here for  If we didn't talk about our thoughts we would all go crazy!!!! It's great to hear your friend is doing better. Please keep us all updated!

Thanks Pokey.

We are all on lockdown here in Boston. I live in South Boston as of March 1, but used to live on the edge of Watertown in Brighton.

Even where I live, there are a bazillion cops riding around with their sirens on and helicopters flying over head. It's madness. Lets hope they catch the guy soon.

Thoughts and prayers out to all affected.

One down and one to go. Hope they bring him in alive so we can interogate and more...

That is what I hope as well! It will give us a lot more insight

I'm glad that they brought him in alive.

I was downtown yesterday and took this picture in front of Marathon Sports. There were many people gathering around the area, taking pictures.

Ten yards away, there was a band playing Jazz music on the sidewalk with hundreds of people standing around and dancing to the music. I thought that this scene perfectly symbolized the spirit of Boston and the rest of America. They can try to push us over, but we just bounce right back. We don't cower in our houses in fear of terror, we go out and dance in the streets steps away from where the tragic event happened.
