The blade length limit for carry in Boston (concealed or openly) is 2.5". Exemptions are made for longer-bladed knives carried for employment purposes or sporting use, while actually engaged in these activities. Please note that this is not MA law, but rather a "home rule" local ordinance. Revere, Lynn, Salem and Beverly have similar ordinances. Not sure about Cambridge, though. MA state law does not specify blade length; it only prohibits the carrying of automatic knives (switchblades) and double-edged knives. Hope this helps.:)
