Surprise! Botach is a joke.
I know there has been plenty of negative feedback on them, but my 1st order in '00 went well. This one hasn't.
CC charged day of order ,one month later have nothing.I'm reversing charges.Tried to work with them ,partial shipment take of some of charge ,no response, phone or email on that.
Heed the warnings.

Sounds like eventually, most end up paying pretty dearly for the few bucks they hoped to/may have saved.

Sure as there are little green apples, within a week, somebody will post here what a great Botach experience they have had.

You say "Botach is a joke"....

Have you talked to the owner or the general manager? BK and Ram are always ready to help, if you take the time to ask for them. (Why whine when a phone call could solve your problems...?)

Well, the man stated no response from e-mailing or phone.I don't see why he or anyone should have to jump through hoops to get customer service with a little integrity to boot. These gentleman BK or Ram don't read e-mails?Does someone have to beat them on the head or file credit card fraud charges to get a response?Does everybody realize it is illegal to charge a card and knowingly not send a product? What amazes me is these guy's aren't behind bars yet.I have a real problem people using the excuse of growing pains or bad employees for the whole customer service issue.Even if it is partially the reason, blame lies were it should always lie, with management.
Micheal, how many people have to get burned before your convinced that BOTACH has a BIG PROBLEM!I have to disagree with your opinion that this guy is whining.I think this person has every right to be disatisfied, unfortunately he should have heeded all the warnings previously.

If a company is not capable of running a web based business and must be contacted by phone, then their web site should have nothing but pictures of what they carry and a phone number. Either that or a big warning that says "You may or may not get what you order from this website, if you want to know which it will be then call us."

I take a lot of the G,B & U posts with a grain of salt. When a company has repeated bad feedback from many different people on different forums then there is something weird going on.

I am not the only BFC member that has had good service from Botach... and saved money by ordering from them. I am sorry that some people have suffered, but I have spent over $2000 in the past 18+- months and have no major complaints. (Even the well respected knife shop that is associated with this web site needs an occasional phone call to check on the status of an order...;) )

It sometimes seems like I'm ordering from a different "Botach" then some of these other posters....

C4: You are indeed fortunate if you have not had problems with Botach. I envy you. I had a long drawn out affair that finally got straightened out. I find that they are OK if I am ordering something which I do not need or want to have right away. Sometimes their low prices do make the difference. However I also have had problems with them. But I continue to order if I can save enough.

I do find it odd that Emerson and others sell their product to Botach since Botach sells below "retailers" cost, to the consumer! Evidently Botach purchases knives as a distributor rather than a "retailer". This way they can tack on a low margin and still be under what a retailer pays for the same knife.

In many other industries, suppliers stop shipping a "retailer" or "internet site" which operates under the pretense of being a distributor. I don't know this for a fact, but most likely Botach has a distributor division as well as their "retail" internet site. This way all purchases are made, by Botach, through their distributor division, at distributor prices. If I were Emerson Knife, I would be very upset at Botach retailing a Commander at $120.00. This is similar to an Emerson Commander being offered in a Walmart ad.

Botach also sells the Cold Steel Ti-Lite for $90.00, which I believe is below retailer's cost.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for free enterprise. Plus I like to buy things I want, at the lowest possible prices. I just find it odd that some suppliers aren't getting upset at these low ball retail prices.

...that anyone who has access to this forum would take their chances with Botach. It's pretty obvious that although they do well on many orders, they have repeated problems - enough for anyone with eyes to see that doing business with them is hit and miss.

I can always get a good deal from the dealers I know and trust. There's no price good enough for me to roll the dice with Botach.

I have been an ardent fan of Botach Tactical and have defended them on more than just these forums. I knew that sooner or later I would have a negative or semi-negative experience and so to hedge my bets, my last order included EVERYTHING that I wanted from them, EVER. This is where the semi-negative experience comes in. A person named Masoud told me that the switch assemblies on the (2) Streamlight Ultrastingers were faulty and a nationwide recall was going to delay my order for a month. Being also an ardent fan of high-performance flashlights I checked www.candlepowerforums.com and found no mention of faulty switches. I called Streamlight directly and they told me that no such faulty switch sitation had occurred, ever. I called the owner of Botach, on my own dime to try to straighten this out. I left messages 3 days in a row explaining my situation. The fifth or sixth day after I left the first message, I got a notice that a package was waiting for me and so I went to pick it up. It was my order. I have faith that my order would eventually be shipped, it bothers me that the staff are misinformed or that they would LIE. Although I don't really consider buying from Botach a true gambling experience, my "gambling" days are over with Botach.

As I stated at length in an earlier post in May, Botach is a company that charges your credit card the second that they receive your information. Sometimes they send out product. Other times, they send nothing.

Charging credit cards prior to shipping product is illegal.

Do you want to do business with them?

I'm not even surprised when someone posts about botach, and admits they knew about the bad customer service but ordered anyway, and then warns people not to order. Am I the only one who sees this?

EVERY company has problems some of the time. What makes the difference is how often and how they handle it.

I have repeatedly read about how poorly Botach handles problems, and yet people continue to order. This is why Botach is not only still in business, but continues to thrive.

If you want Botach to change, people will first have to stop ordering from them.

I just placed an order with Botach which should ship Tuesday and arrive on Thursday. I will post my results Thursday evening. BTW this was Not a knife order. I do agree that a dealers true colors show when there is a problem with the order and not on a smooth transaction. That's probably why we see Botach and Knife Outlet here on a consistant basis.

I bought my beloved Cold Steel Kukri from Boatach. Saved tons of money and the knife got delivered on time with no issues. That's all I have to say.

Thursday 1:30pm order arrived as promised. Day after order was placed I received an e-mail confirmation with a tracking number. Got a good deal on a tactical flashlight with 4 extra free lithium batteries.
