I've been looking for a tactical pen that doesn't cost $100 plus for a piece of machined alloy. There was a thread
a while ago in G&G that mentioned a Kley-Zion pen from Botach that was USA made, well constructed, and had
an unbeatable price.

I placed the order with Botach via telephone and was E-mailed a USPS tracking # as well as an ETA for delivery.
I was very surprised to receive another E-mail the next day informing me my item was out of stock and had no
ETA for re-stock.

I immediately contacted my credit card provider and found that although the charge had been posted to my account,
it had not been finalized because this had transpired over a weekend. The folks at the dispute center were very
professional and agreed to issue a credit when I explained the circumstances.

How the hell to you issue a shipping # and delivery ETA for an item that's not even in stock? Botach has received some
bad reviews regarding poor customer service if not outright fraud in the past, but as these comments were fairly old
I decided to take a chance as I really liked the pen. If this hadn't all happened over a weekend I have no doubt a refund
would have been difficult...

Beware of doing business with Botach. They have obviously haven't changed their practices and don't deserve customers
or consideration. Too bad, as I really wanted that pen...

It's been said:

"...doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results..."

Well, you're right of course. Not ALL of the reviews were negative, and with the small amount of cash
involved I suppose I did something stupid. Won't do it again...

Re: Botach.
Botach is an Israeli owned and run company based in California.
I have been buying from them for at least five or six years.
It has only been a few years since they decided to sell on Ebay.
I have never purchased anything from them via Ebay and never would... only on their web site.

From very early on I learned how to "handle" this company.
I learned that with every single item I had to first confirm by phone that the item I wanted was in fact "currently in stock" and "available in the color or size" I wanted before any order gets placed.

While actually getting someone from customer service to answer the phone is a real chore... it's not impossible, I eventually learned the names of several of the young Women in customer service and only dealt with them by name.
And over a year ago, I made contact with a "salesman" with the authority to sell KZ stingers to me 12 per order, @ $11.00 per pen.
They were always shipped fairly promptly (free shipping, no tax) and never had an issue until about two orders back.

I started receiving them with the plastic bags cut open and the paper adhesive stickers affixed to each pen (warning the user that the ink compartment is 'reverse threaded do not over tighten') were all either torn off of half hanging off.
When eventually after two separate orders I asked them what's the deal???!!!, I was told that the pens do not come with a Fisher Space Ink cartridge in them by default... and that a Fisher Ink Cartridge had to be inserted each pen individually... so someone at Botach was opening them to insert a Fisher S.P. cartridge.

Over the last two years I've probably purchased about 30-40 of the KZ Stinger Pens @ $11.00 per pen.
I stopped buying them a month ago after the "Salesman" I had been dealing with suddenly told me "I can no longer sell them to you at that price"..... this occurred after I raised hell and sent photos of the pens in the state they were received by me in.

While that's the end of buying the pens from Botach.... I have had and continue to have fairly trouble free purchases.

I bought a pair of OTB 941MBB Bootistan Boots a year ago that they sell for $39.98 which retail for $220.00.
They shipped within seven days, boots were NIB and are superb.
Purchased a pair of CamelBak Magnum Force Gloves two years ago for $47.00 which at the time retailed for over $85.00.
They were received in seven days, always free shipping, no tax.
Purchased a Fisher Cap-O-Matic Space Pen for $6.00 two years ago, received in seven days, free shipping, no tax.
What I do continue to buy from them are ITW Grimloc Carabiner's @ $1.50 each, usually 10-12 per order, no one sells them that cheap anywhere.
Last week I received them in 4 days, always fee shipping, no tax.

Botach is far from perfect.... but I know how to deal with them.
I have never been charged for something I should not have, or received a wrong item, only because I'm assertive with them, stipulating exactly what is supposed to be shipped to me.
They can be "flaky" but like I say, being assertive with them helps to avoid issues.
For sure I would NEVER deal with them via Ebay... only on their own web site.

Two sites I stopped dealing with years ago which I find far worse (horrible) than Botach is OpticPlanet and OpticSale.

i bought a take down tactical pen, it was like 15 bucks on amazom, and its suprizingly good! i did grind down the part of the pen where your fingers hold it just for comfort during long writing, jus if your still lookin

I also had a one and only bad experience with OpticPlanet, I wouldn't do business with them either. They got to get their work ethics in order.

I had one experience with Botach, but after that I wasn’t going back.

I ordered two tomahawks from them when they had a good deal when you buy two. So I bought two. No problems with anything, except it took them a full week for it to go from “processing” to shipping. When it finally did ship out, it took another week and half to get to me.

Needless to say, i was the least bit impressed.

Well, I got a telephone confirmation, an E-mail confirmation AND a USPS shipping # and ETA prior to getting laid away w/ the "forever on b/o"
notification. Glad you did better w/ these people than I did.

My dealings with Botach has been spotty....I also call and verify everything before ordering. Ditto for Optics Planet.

BOTACH is selling Asian knockoffs of U.S. military surplus as "ECWCS" garments.

"ECWCS" is a registered trademark for USA-made military uniform garments. All ECWCS garments are required by federal law (Berry Act) to be made in the US from US materials. The garments being sold by BOTACH are made outside the USA .

BOTACH slithers on.

Botach has been infamous in the firearm accessory world for years.....like 20 or so. The agnst derived from dealing with them is far from worth the hassle and usual disappointment.

Good lord! Are those creeps still around? I got ripped off by them nearly 20 years ago. It's sad that they are still plying their criminal trade masquerading as a business.
