Botach.com WARNING!!

I know that this is not fully knife related but the mebers here might be helped by this:I am posting this to warn member of this board NOT to do business with these characters. In October, I ordered a Reflex sight from them because they seemed to have the best prices around...and a decent website. Got told it was on backorder. I waited several weeks and was promised it again.....never came. 3 weeks later I called for a credit to my card....and was told it would be done right away. See...they charge your card before shipping...not when they ship like any credible business. Anyways, it took me three weeks of phone calls and empty promises and finally a threat for them to credit my account.

Now it is not that Trijicon was not supplying them. I called Trijicon to see if they were backordered...they weren't.

What this company does is charge you card....sit on your money and collects interest....until they get enough orders of the same item and then you might get your stuff. All the time they make $$ on your time.

So if you want to get screwed and then have the pleasure of talking to a crew that sound like they are operating out of Calcutta, then go ahead and do businees there.

XRAYED: Sorry to hear that.

We had a painless experience (non-knife) purchasing from them. My wife bought 2 Photon lights thru their website without even talking to them and received the lights promptly at a great price.

I also just did a credit card transaction with them for a small item and all went well with prompt shipping and emails. The beauty of credit card transactions is that at least you have the credit card company in your corner.

Well, as anyone could see I've had variable experiences with Botach. My first order was an absolute disaster, the answers to my questions changed everytime I spoke to someone new. My second order which included 2 Streamlight Batonlights went off more smoothly but with one caveat. The caveat is that they provided me a tracking number but autodirected me to the wrong shipper (fedex instead of UPS). I'll probably deal with Botach again, they are getting better (as predicted).

Search AR15.com, thefiringline.com, glocktalk.com, and the GB&U forum here for "Botach" and you'll find all the evidence you need to determine that they are not an honorable company. You'll even find that their local BBB chapter says the same thing about them. Anyone doing business with them does so at their own risk.

I have had three very good experiences ordering from them. Placed an on line order yesterday and when I got home there was a message to call. They wanted to let me know one of my items was out of stock and would hopefully be in next week. I told them to wait and ship everything together. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because they have had the best prices I've seen on the stuff I've ordered from them.

I've done ok with them, but apparently the service is hit and miss and if you're a miss, it's not fun. I read where they are trying to improve their customer service. Hope so, since their prices are good.

I advise ordering one item at a time if you insist on ordering from these guys. I had one good order out of three. Whenever there was an item backordered, they never completed the order. The last time they charged my card and still have not credited me.
I'm off their mailing list and their customer base. I got my Surefire lenses from LDS promptly and with free shipping.

I have placed quite a few orders with them. I have never had a problem with their service. I always use UPS 3 Day and the stuff gets here quickly and correctly. They have THE BEST prices on a lot of stuff (where else you gonna find a Surefire E1 for $35.00?). I hear so many bad things, I hope it doesn't happen to me.
