I am a little disturbed by people saying that "Botach sucks" and not really giving any details, so here is my story....

I needed a pair of Leatherman Waves to go to Poland last Monday. I called Triple Ought and found that Patrick had only one Wave in stock, so I called Botach and found that they had the two that I needed in stock for $61 each. (GREAT PRICE!) The UPS pick up was in 45 minutes. Botach promised that they would get them out by the time that UPS came. They did! (GREAT SERVICE!!) The two Waves arrived on time!

For those that may say that this order and their service is the exception to the rule, let me say this: I have ordered from Botach six times before, and all of my orders have been on time and at great prices!

As I have posted in the past, if you have a problem with your order, call Botach and ask to speak with BK, the owner. He will make things right....

I too have had good service from Botach as of late. People were accusing me of working for them because I posted something positive about them. I have no problem with people posting negative things when they have actual experience with Botach but I don't agree with people posting negative things just to jump on the bandwagon. Your choice is your choice but speak from experience, not just to be in the "in" crowd.

I hav only ordered from them once, a Leatherman Pulse, but it got here very quickly and the price was good. I will admit hhowever, that I have not ordered anything else because of all the "Botach sux" threads.

I have never had bad service from BoTach. I have been confused when talking on the phone with them, but I do all my ordering on the internet and keep hard copies of what I order until I get the order. One thing I have noticed is they have great prices and are often back-ordered. For me, Botach is a preferred vendor. Their price is right!

I have been very satisfied with their service and prices.

Half dozen orders. No problems, all good. On time and CHEAP! Sorry for those who have not had good experiences with them.

I have dealt with them a dozen times or so with only one "problem" ever and that was because an item was out of stock. I do agree with Copfish, phone conversations with the customer service staff can be a bit confusing, but NO ONE comes close to their low prices.

I've ordered from Botach a number of times, and only had one glitch. It was a SureFire 8NX, and their initial order from SureFire came w/out the ac and dc chargers. Botach had both charged my card and inputted into their UPS shipping program, which made the order show up in tracking, but only as "Manifest Received." It threw me off for a few days, but after that I gave them a call, and they explained the problem. In trying to expedite everyone's order, they found out that they had not received the correct models from SureFire. The only problem I've faced is communication problems from some of their rank and file employees, but never from BK. He's straight up and very helpful. If SureFire ever comes out with the 10X, I'll probably watch Botach for another great price.

Disturbed? NO details?I think if you do a search, you'll find plenty of posts/complaints with the details you seek.Yes,some people just post something sucks with no details, but I think Botach service has been detailed more than enough to cast doubt on it's ethics and business practices. Ultimetly, how a company handles problems is the real test for great customer service. After reading numerous complaints on this board and others,I would trust Botach as far as I could throw an elephant. If even half these complaints are true, they have more than bad service, they are committing fraud and other crimes, these people are not to be trusted.I can't see defending these clowns, even if you haven't been burnt yet.IT sounds like your experiences have been very lucky.I'm glad things have gone well and the prices are cheap, but anybody that gets burned by them from here on in,have been forewarned by other trustworthy formites.I've dealt with them once and a few day's after I placed an order "next day air" I might add, it suddenly dawned on them the item is not in stock. However,They were kind enough to offer me a more expensive model at a higher price of course(Bait and Switch)This was only after a couple of unanswered e-mails and a phone call to confirm if my order had been shipped long after I should have had the item delivered.Real swift people.I could just imagine how long they would have left me hanging in the breeze,if I hadn't followed up on my order.Customer service?More like lack of,but hey if people want to keep playing with the devil, all's I can say is good luck.I guess I should be glad they didn't charge my card and credit it a month or so later, like they have apparantly done to some other unfortunate souls. It's okay to relate a good experience even if others have had negative experiences, but I think at this point to stick up for this company after it has been established to have committed unethical acts, perhaps even committing illegal activities seems a little too much.just my two cents.Best Regards,Ralph

This company's business is the retail sale of military and law enforcement supplies.

Based on our standards, we rate this company as having an unsatisfactory business record. An unsatisfactory rating is given when a pattern in the company's customer complaints causes us concern, when the company does not respond to complaints, or when it will not substantiate its advertising claims. In this case, our complaint history for this company shows that although the business has responded to some customer complaints brought to its attention by the Bureau, others remain unanswered. A Better Business Bureau report is based on our file information and experience with an individual company over the past three years. I've said this before and I'll say it again. I've read all about Botach. Until I personally have a beef, I'll still take advantage of their sales.

Senator,

I do respect your opinion and I'm originally a member of the "screaming" gallery but I've read everyone of those threads that you cross posted and it is a far cry from making Botach UNILATERALLY bad. In fact, the posts pretty much mirror the response on other forums. A few very vocal complaints and a few voices of support. I've been searching for the anti-BOTACH website mentioned in one of the threads and have so far, not found it. If someone finds it please email the link to me.

paranoid9999 - I've never said that Botach is "UNILATERALLY bad." In fact, my experiences with them mirror what you see on the forums. I've ordered from them twice. Both orders were for the exact same item - Blade-Tech concealex paddle holsters for a Glock 23. One holster showed up within a week, one showed up within... a month! Or was it six weeks? All I could get was the answering machine with no return phone call. I ended up giving my father-in-law my hoster and waited for the second one to arrive to replace it. This was before I learned of similar experiences with them from others. Had I known about other folks' problems with them, I never would have used them in the first place.

My point is this - knowing that the BBB rates them as unsatisfactory, and knowing that they lie about having items in stock, and knowing that they charge your credit card while waiting for enough people to order so that they can finally place an order from their distributor, and knowing that they'll be almost impossible to get in touch with when you do have a problem, why would you bother using them at all? Is the $5 you'll save worth the potential headaches you'll get when you eventually do have a bad experience? Besides, there are plenty of honorable dealers around that sell the same equipment that Botach does.

C4 said that he was "little disturbed by people saying that "Botach sucks" and not really giving any details" so I provided him with links to plenty of folks who gave their horror story details.

Ahh...now I understand. Thanks, Senator.

Kelly,

The only backorder I had from Botach was dealt with in a professional manor. It was for an item that was never shipped from the manufacturer.

I received my order in 4 days with a note that one item was on backorder. I got several emails that it was still on backorder. I got a final email and a call from Botach when they gave up on the manufacture shipping this "new" item. My credit card was never charged!

I only have my personal experience to go on, but I have only had good dealings with Botach. I see all the "bad and ugly" posts, but I still wonder what percentage of their volume of business this represents.....
