So I get home from work last night around 6pm.. Low and behold, a UPS package at my front door. Excited as all hell, I run inside and open it up immediately. Already I notice there is something wrong after taking it out of the UPS package. You know when you try and put something back in its box, but it doesn't quite go in the same way the manufacturer had put it in? Like that box will bulge out in certain places... Yea thats what it was like. But I wasn't too worried about it. So after taking my knife out, I notice that it wasn't covered in the customary plastic covering, even though the safety knife was. Still not too worried about it, I take it out of and put it under that light... thats when it hit me.... Botachtactical.com has got to be thee best business out there.. I mean check these photos out.

The handle also comes with a rubber grip which is very nice. Again notice the stylish abrasions, and two BONUS indentations.

The butt end of knife can be used for pounding or breaking things as said by the product description. And as you can see here, somebody was nice enough to test it out for me.

These guys are so good, they'll even dull the blade for you for free so that you don't hurt yourself. I mean look at that serration.. Good thing to.. I won't have to worry about my nephew getting his hands on it when he visits. This knife couldn't cut through apple sauce. On top of that, somebody left oil on the blade just in case I might need some.

Yea this is something that happened this past Friday. I posted this in some other forums as well. I got a call this morning(Sunday) from Botach, saying they would send me a new knife, as soon as they received the old one. I told them I didn't want to do any sort of business with them, so they're going to send me a return package, and refund my money in full.
 
That's a far better response than I would have expected from Botach. Let's see if they follow through.

they are a pain in the ass.

they have a tendency to resell returns without checking the items, as appears to have happened here. they also sell factory seconds, refurbs, and the like.

i will only purchase from them from their warehouse after i have seen and held the item. never on line.
 
They run their website through yahoo. Does yahoo have a business section where I can post a complaint about them? It seems that everybody that knows about Botach, knows that they've got horrible service.
 
Any chance we can get Botach in the Hall of Shame? I swear I have not seen 1 good feedback on them on any forum :(
 
Maybe Cliff Stump :D got ahold of that knife and did some "testing" with it before they released it to you. It's just amazing that it's not busted in-two. Are you SURE that you didn't buy it from their "used and beat-up" department?

Definitely good thinking. Once you sent in the knife, you could wait forever for a replacement or a refund.

It's a shame --- I had good dealings with them, and even I wouldn't take a chance again.
 
Yea.. I'm still worried about how long it's going to take until I get my refund. Isn't there a law of some sort that designates a certain period of time before the customer is refunded? Everyone is saying I'm lucky that they even responded, but now I'm worrying if they'll ever get my money back into my account.
 
Depending on how you paid, you can contest the charges. Give them a week or so, ask what they're doing about it, if they hassle you, contest the deal with your credit card or PayPal, and when you get the money back, tell them you'll send them the knife as soon as they send a mailer.

You may want to just hang onto that knife; the odds are that the guy who sent that one back is still waiting for his refund. And after you send it back, the next guy they send it to will be dazedly looking at his beat-up, used knife while you grow a Billy Gibbons-style beard waiting for your refund.

Hmmm, now the crappy pair of cell extraction gloves I'd gotten from them makes more sense. Was so pissed off with them that I cut the gloves into little pieces. Still, it did prove that the Bear Claw will cut through carbon fiber real nice!

Their customer service did suck ass, and they tried double billing me. Put me off of internet orders for a while.
