Time to pass on a couple much loved knives that never get any pocket time...
1.) GEC TIW 152112 Huckleberry Boys Knife in ebony and 1095 I received this from AFAustin (original sale thread here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ot-Going-to-the-Dogs-quot-Sale-(Traditionals)) a couple months back.
Andrew expertly softened all the corners of the tang, bolsters, and spine, making this knife extremely pleasing to the touch. He also put an awesome edge on the blade.
Fit and finish is dead on. Centered blade, zero play, medium pull with huge snap, no gaps, flush backspring, nice natural patina. I only carried it a handful of times, lightly used, and edge lightly touched up. Comes very sharp. Comes with original tube. Asking $45 shipped **SOLD**
2.) Case XX 5-dot ('75) 2137 Sodbuster Jr. in black delrin and CV I scored this one off the bay and it appeared to have never been used and still had the blade etch. I thinned out the edge and only carried it for a couple weeks where it was lightly used and the edge lightly touched up. Medium-firm pull with huge snap. Blade is super tight with zero play. Blade is off-centered in the closed but zero rubbing. Backspring just a hair sunk in the closed, flush in the open. No gaps or cracks, really awesome. Natural patine forming from slicing apples. Comes very sharp. No box.
Of note: The knife came to me with the inside of the backspring pitted as seen in last pic. I gave it a mineral oil soak and scrubbed it best I could with a pipecleaner so it should be good to go. Asking $25 shipped **SOLD**
Thanks for looking.
