Two very rare and special discontinued models from Spyderco. A must have for any Spyderco enthusiast and especially any balisong enthusiast. First up is the Balisong:
I have run this knife past Sal G at Spyderco and he has blessed it as being genuine. There were not many made in VG10.
The SzaboFly is a stylized butterfly knife with obvious Spyderco influence in the handle's round holes. These unique holes enable retention and control over the knife while rotating and swinging. Szabo's personal style is reflected in the curved handle and blade which curl into eachother when the knife is closed. The Szabo trademark sickle/scythe shape applies cutting performance in both forward and backward cuts.
Dual-position wire pocket clip fastens to either handle section.
Screw together construction
Spring loaded latch locks blade closed
Hollow-ground blade sharpened on one side only
Chamfered pinch-free handl
Specs:
Blade Steel: 154CM Actually the very rare VG10 version.
Handle Material: Stainless Steel
Length Open: 9 7/8" (251mm)
Blade Length: 4 3/16" (106mm)
Length Closed: 6" (152mm)
Blade Thickness: " (mm)
Weight: 5.6 oz. (159 g.)
Made in Golden, Colorado U.S.A.
Asking $SOLD
Second up is the IMPALA:
South African hunter and custom knifemaker Ed Scott designed this quality Spyderco knife with hook specifically for hunters. Low profile steel clip nestled into the black handle scale keeps folder firmly clipped without destroying cloth pockets. Blade is serrated close to the handle. Double beveled gut hook is sharpened on both sides of the radius. A section of unsharpened serrations above the hook make a slip resistant resting spot for the index finger while controlling the tip and hook. Carries tip down
Blade is VG-10 steel with Walker liner lock
G-10 handle
Blade: 3-¾"
Open: 8-¾"
Closed: 5"
Weight: 3.9 oz.
Asking $Sold or B/O!!!!!
Both knives are new old stock and come with the original boxes. The Zsabofly comes with paperwork. It does have one small hairline scratch that you can barely see. Considering it has been around for ten years that is not bad.
