For your viewing pleasure on this beautiful Memorial Day Weekend I have a couple of outstanding drop point hunters for you to consider.
The materials for both of these are out of this world. The steel is Takefu Shiro 2 core San Mai with a 22 layer Suminagashi jacket. I obtained the billet and then with the help of my friend John Doyle we forged it down to size which makes the pattern of the jacket infinitely more interesting. The handle material for each is amazing. The Koa has beautiful chatoyance and the Honduran Rosewood Burl is world class. Look closely at the pictures, there are a lot of special details in both. These are knives that I wouldn't mind having in my collection.
Koa Drop Point
OAL: 9.5"
BLADE: 4.0" long, 1.25" wide. It has been hand sanded to 1200 grit and then etched to reveal the amazing Suminagashi. The flats on this one were left "Brute de Forge". The grind is hybrid flat/convex which is down to 0.009" before sharpening.
STEEL: 0.135" Takefu Shiro 2 carbon steel heat treated to RC62 with a 22 layer Suminagashi jacket.
HANDLE: K&G stabilized curly Koa with a carbon fiber guard and black and white spacers and black pin.
SHEATH: Pouch style leather sheath.

Honduran Rosewood Burl Drop Point
OAL: 9.5"
BLADE: 4.0" long, 1.25" wide. It has been hand sanded to 1200 grit and then etched to reveal the amazing Suminagashi. The flats on this one were sanded smooth. The grind is hybrid flat/convex which is down to 0.009" before sharpening.
