First up is an awesome first production run LNIB Bark River/Dark Timber Grizzly, 3V steel, with gorgeous curly maple scales with mosaic pins and black liners. I love this knife, and I honestly believe it is one of the best out there at its price. This one sold here a few weeks ago to a friend of mine, who ended up selling it to me as part of a package. I am tempted to keep it even though I have another one. It was like new when he bought it, and it still is. I don’t believe it has even been in the sheath, so I included a picture of my other one in its sheath because I think the sheath is excellent and should be seen for full appreciation of how great a deal this is.
I have to point out that compared to the sheathed Grizzly, which is from the 2nd production run (and not for sale), this 1st run is ground noticeably thinner at the spine once the distal taper starts, though it looks to be the same thickness (around 0.25-0.26) where the handle ends.
Selling it for the same price that it went for previously, and a green micarta version went for last week: $SOLD TYD
2nd Grizzly (not for sale) with picture in sheath for reference of how nice the sheath is:
Next is a rare custom Fallkniven F1. It’s the same as your standard F1, but with one big difference—the rubber handle has been replaced by the folks at Bark River with a vastly superior (in my opinion) desert ironwood burl handle with black liners and brass bolts. I don’t know how many runs BRK has done of these, but they don’t make them like this anymore and I’ve never seen another like it on the secondary market. If you check at knivesshipfree, you will see that they now have a more flared butt end (which covers the exposed tang at the rear) and a steel bolster. You will also notice that for one with a burl handle (they don’t have desert ironwood burl and I haven’t noticed a refresh with new models for at least two years) it will cost you $345. For this one, which has been used once to practice making feather sticks and is in almost new condition, with nothing but a light mark on the surface of the blade as you can see below, I am asking considerably less, and losing my shirt on this at my listed price!
$TRADED TYD
Here’s a better shot of the liners:
Btw, couple of drizzles of rain seem to have gotten on the sheath. Nothing to worry about there—no staining or anything.
I have large hands (between glove sizes L and XL) and I have plenty of room on this handle.
