Just posted this up in a thread over in W+SS, figured I'd throw it up here as well, to get a pic of my BK-2 up, and get started on my BH number.

The setup is:

Maxped 10x4 bottle holder in OD
Tactical Tailor E+E Vertical pouch in multicam
Tactical Tailor Double mag pouch in black
Maxped large Tactile pouch in khaki
The strap is an old guitar strap I had lying around rigged on with a carabiner and some paracord(because I couldn't find two carabiners).

Contents of the main bottle pouch:
Nalgene Guyot 38oz SS bottle
GSI bottle cup
Ghetto stove made from a tuna can, uses solid fuel tablets
6x Coghlans fuel tabs
Bandana
Little baggie with two teabags and two sugar packets

Front pocket of the bottle holder open

Contents of the front pocket. I swapped out the stock zipper pull with some gutted orange paracord and a zipper pull whistle:
Basic FAK(various bandaids, antibiotic ointment, Benadryl, Tylenol Extra Strength, some 2x3 guaze pads, wound closure strips). Nothing crazy, just a booboo kit.
LMF Spork
Rite in the Rain notepad
Pencil
Two instant handwarmers
Pen flare launcher
2x red pen flares and 1x bear banger contained in the tube to the left of them

E+E Pouch contents:
-AMK Heatsheat
-Water purification tablets(I think 20 or so)
-Signal mirror
-Fresnel lens
-ESEE survival card
-Whistle
-Button compass
-Hunk of fatwood
-2x PJCB firestraws
-Roll of duct tape
-2x rolls of gauze
-GG misch metal rod wrapped with orange paracord to make a handle and lanyard for GG striker(paracord was epoxied in place)
-Mini Bic
-Hank of paracord

TT double mag pouch open. This pouch is the "sustainment pouch". It works great for energy bars, bags of trail mix, etc. Really quite a handy pouch. This pic also gives a good view of the Spyderco Bill Moran and Gerber light attached to the tactile pouch, as well as the cord lock light.

Double mag pouch contents:
-Big bag of almonds just to show what it can fit. It'll fit 6 Clif bars really well, I just didn't have that many handy. You could still fit stuff underneath the almond bag as well, the velcro closure flap works really well to secure stuff of different heights.
-2x Nalgene snap cap containers, filled with either Gatorade or Tang drink powder. There are two elastic loops on the front of the pouch designed for 12g shells. These work really well with these small containers.
-Black Crater cordlock LED light. There's a shock cord system to tighten up the pouch, and I replaced the regular cord lock with the LED one.

Maxped Tactile pouch open. I didn't have this on it originally, but I had it laying around doing nothing, and I got to thinking. It's attached to the back of the bottle holder(or the bottle holder is attached to the front of this pouch...). Works great as a general purpose or admin type pouch. I attached a Spyder Bill Moran drop point behind the double mag pouch to the molle webbing using paracord. There's also a little 1xAA Gerber light rigged onto the molle on the side of the pouch as well.

Tactile pouch contents:
-Pocket chainsaw
-Roll of orange flagging tape
-Hank of paracord
-Contractor garbage bag
-Travelpack of Kleenex
-Petzl Tikka XP 2 headlamp
-Spyderco Bill Moran
-Gerber 1xAA light
-2x handwarmer packets
(tha'ts just a deck of cards underneath the pouch I used to keep it from falling over)

And here it is with my BK-2(with LMF firesteel and striker, and a chunk of fatwood ranger banded to it), and with an SAK and a good flashlight(Olight T-25) in my pocket, it makes for a great setup for day hikes. With a full bottle of water and two Clif Bars(no almonds), the kit weighs in at a little under 8.5lbs. If I need to carry more food or water, or extra layers, I can throw the whole setup in a backpack, or wear the backpack over the shoulder strap, which works really well. All in all I'm super happy with this setup. Any suggestions or (constructive)criticisms are more than welcome.

Nice kits, the ranger band thing is also cool because it makes the sheath less noisy.

Very, very nice kit. I may have to steal that idea from you . I really need to get a Maxped bottle holder, this looks really good and well thought out.

Nice kit, been thinking about doing one of these ever since I saw J Williams post on his in the w&ss section a year or so ago. Lately though I'm thinking more about building one around a small padded camera case instead...with my BK-11 tucked out sight for the blade.

awesome!! thanks for sharing!

Thanks, glad you liked it.

Nice, well thought out kit.

I may be borrowing some of your ideas, sir.

Thanks. Feel free to use whatever ideas you like, I stole plenty of them from other people anyways :D

Nice setup! Still working on mine...

Nice man. A strap pad is one of the few things left I want to get for this kit. Some extra batteries, and a small fishing/hunting kit and I think I can call it done.

Ranger bands are a sweet, budget way to secure stuff to a sheath. Emergency firestarter too :)

Thanks man. They really make for great kits. Check out the big thread on them over in W+SS for lots of pics and ideas for them, that's what got me into them in the first place. Really versatile pieces of gear for sure.

Thanks. That thread is what got me started on em too. With all the photography you do, a camera based kit would be a pretty cool idea.

good looking kit, but do not be mistaken if you think you are "done" :) heh.

there's always something more :>

Heh, I know what you mean. Fortunatley the way it's set up, it's kinda hard to overload it with stuff, which will keep me from trying to pack the kitchen sink.

Nice gear, looks ready to go....

Thanks man. That was kinda the idea behind it, having something that's pretty much ready to grab whenever I felt like hitting the bush for a bit. Fill up the bottle, grab some snacks and go. No worrying about what gear to put in the pack or to leave home.

A 24 inch length of either plastic or rubber tubing would be a nice addition to this very well thought out kit. It will take up almost no space and can be used for many things, particularly the rubber tubing.

Cool kit buddy!
Good, useful selection, so much equipment in a relatively small package. (The Bladeforums patch is a nice touch... :))

Forgive my ignorance here. I've seen tubing used for drinking tubes, and to blow the coals from a fire back to life, but I can't think of anything else to use it for. What other uses does it have? Thanks for the input.

That's what I'm thinking. So often my camera equipment is what I need to have on hand that it only makes sense to make a small kit based around a camera case instead of having two kits on me. That will leave me more mobile. I like the addition of the cord lock light, those are really cool.

As the rubber tubing, some different uses for each type but some similar uses for both; drinking, syphoning, distilling, tourniquet, with some added things irrigating a wound, adding oxygen to coals, improvised cordage for multiple uses, I think some will burn just like an inner tube...
