  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Bottles and Water Bags...CLEANING Methods, tried and true?

boiling water and a teaspoon of nonscented Clorox.

Works everytime. Kills everything.

I use it on my Nalgenes, Polycarbs (yes, I still use them. BPA liver eating, brain killing, cancer causing agents and all), and Milsurp Canteens.

If you need an abrasive you can put a bunch of salt in there and swish it around. Baby bottle brushes work well, too.

But usually boiling it in some water and Clorox will break up any leftover Dorito-gut funk.

bleach works for me

a simple way to dry camelbaks out is to put a small sharpie marker or pen into the opening so that the sharpie pocket clip clips to the rim of the camelbak opening...the marker sticks out inside of the bladder holding it open....sort of like propping up a tarp with a stick....then hang to dry....i try to store all of my camelbaks dry

I have a water only rule on everything but my stainless steel bottles.

I have used Milton ( baby bottle sterilizer) with success.
I store my bladders in the freezer between uses.
