Hallo everybody.. it been a while that i post in this forum..

i've been EDC'ing spyderco CAT for 2,5 years.. (beside a couple of SAK as multitool purpose) and i like it very much..
a friend of mine @pisausaya , a Kizer distributor in my country introduce me to the Kizer line... the Rogue seem interesting to be so i bought one today..
pay a bit more than you guys in the USA, but i really want to try S35VN since i mostly only dealing with 440C, VG10 and 154cm..

the first unit got a little up-down wiggle (side to side is good), so i got a replacement.. this second one is rock solid..

size comparison with my delica and CAT

it is quite a thick knife blade.. very chunky and robust...

i really like the profile and feel very good on my hand..

i didn't really like the factory edge, it okay for working edge, but it was not impresive, not shaving sharp nor slice paper smoothly.. basically it is just to THICK.

spend 2 hours to re-profile the bevel to make them more acute to my liking... mannnn these S35Vn are HARD! especially for a guy with no tool and free hand sharpening with sand paper like me (start with 280, then 600 and jump to 1500 grit), but i finally did it.. and it is insanely sharp! luv it..

here's a video demonstration.. the leaf is tough and the factory edge wont even cut it half, but the new edge slice like it was nothing.. i tried shaving my leg hairs and the hairs are all falls just by a slight touch..

there are some imperfections on the blade grind.. but overall i'm very happy with the knife.. it is my gateway for better knife..

thanks for looking guys.. :D

It would appear that you did a very nice job with minimum tooling. Generally, we are used to seeing a new blade slicing printing paper or thin (0.002") Yellow Pages phonebook paper...but your media worked out well also.
I hope that your finances will improve such that you can afford proper sharpening tools...although there are more than a few of us who use wet 'n dry sandpaper to achieve our results, just like you. After all, our "time" does not cost much...and if we are having fun...well...GOOD!
Happy day, sir. Nice knife.

LOL! yeah i know that my free hand sharpening would make some knife enthusiast cringe... i was hesitate to post about it..
i do LOVE those that make beautiful edge with great sharpening tools..
i do use my knife, and after decades of free hand sharpening, i know the edge that i'm after.. got to admit they are not beautiful, but they have the sharpness degree that is useful for my need.. trust me, if the factory edge was great, i would have leave it alone.. :D

my Benchmade mini griptilian got great factory edge.. after some stropping, it was really sharp..

but thank you for your wish Sonny.. i do hope my finances get better.. :D

Kizer clips have been pretty terrible for me, but this one looks like the best so far. I carry my Gemini clipless and like it much better without that shard of metal on the side.

i know fiberous leaf are not popular.. so i tried it on paper..

Thanks for the pic next to a delica. Saw the knife and liked it but the delica handle is on the small side for me and that kizer looks smaller

Free-hand sharpening with wet/dry sandpaper is nothing to cringe about haha. The Ferrum Forge bros sharpen everything they make with a stick and wet/dry paper [emoji1303]

Nice pics.

I just picked one up recently, too. I dig it. Easy to carry. Cool blade, especially in that size. I'm puzzled by the finish on the black part of the titanium scales. It feels kinda plastic-y. I'm not sure if it's coated or just polished or ? In any event, fun little knife at a good price.

Love the Rogue too, been carrying and using it nonstop for the past month. Modded mine to round off just about everything.

I think it is a kind of mate black DLC/IP.. i dont know for sure..
for me the size is perfect .. and overall i'm happy with the purchase.

I apologize in advance, but I saw the title of this post and all I can think of is:

IIIIII KNOW
I BOUGHT A KIZER ROGUE
BUT I LIIIIIIKE IT

:D

PS Truly AWESOME mod, AA...takes the look from "retractable utility blade" to "badass wharncliffe!"

it has been 5 days that i own the Rogue in the original post..

what do i think so far?
well, i like it even more!.. the opening and closing is becoming even smoother and now i can flick it easily..

since it is my first S35VN, i've been using it for light cutting test just to see how good the edge holding compared to my other knives with lower grade steel.. so far i've been impressed with the edge holding.. and edge touch up is not that hard.
i have sharpen it a couple more time, and it now just insanely sharp where i can hold a hair on my finger, and can cut it with a gentle tap with the edge.

the pivot screw on mine seem to be to loose and easily turn by it self, but i can fix the issue easily.
the knife is easy to take apart for cleaning, and have good construction.
i like the titanium grip.. it feel solid, balanced and not slipery because of the extra textures lines and i like the light weight..
it is fun to carry since the profile is quite slim...

the only thing i wish from it.. is i wish i have two. :D
