Bought a new Becker...

Another deer with the Necker tonight. Still sharp with just a few swipes on each side with the hone. Seven deer total now and nine mallards. Admittedly breasting ducks isn't much of a challenge to edge retention, but it did show the utility of the point shape and grind.

Hang on to those ol' 0170-6C blades!

If you actualy use your Beckers, they may be remembered as something rather Special.

Speaking of metal..... I have noticed that knives with D2 are rather expensive compared to 1095 carbon steel. Will KaBar Beckers cost more than they did compared to the price Camillus sold them for?
I noticed the USMC style D2 knives are costing around $100, so a Becker style in D2 may cost as much as the Camillus Beckers are costing now.
Thoughts??

I have been wanting an answer to this question myself. If i recall correctly Camillus payed royalties to cold steel whom purchased the carbon v in huge quantities and then did extensive (expensive) heat treat on the steel and was still able to sell us these quality blades at import prices! Ka-bar heat treat wont compare no matter the steel ( IMOP) and they probably wont give us the same deals at least untill research and development is paid... but remember Ethan's knives were meant to be high quality affordable blades for soldiers as well as woodsmen so who knows hopefully they will be priced low enough for everyone to add one or two of each to our collections.
