Bought a Para in D2 just in time!

Damn you all, I had to finally pull the trigger on this too, thinking it might be unavailable soon. Will be my first Para, got two Millies. I was really wanting to wait until Spyderco felt pressured to release an orange Para sprint run. To be fair been thinking of getting a Para for a while, I feel very self conscious edc'ing a Millie, its a little big.

This is going to be an expensive week, with (hopefully) a new Mule coming out.

Even with the Orange it won't be CPM D2 ;)

Man I wonder how many of those they have sold at this low price?? they have been on sale like that for cheap for some time now. at least a few weeks. And all over diff forums ppl are talking about how many theyve bought on the spyderco site at that price. I know its from their factory there so obviously they had quite a few but damn lol. Anyone know what kind of numbers they have sold?

IIRC, the Sprint Run was 1200 pieces. Sprint Runs usually go 600 pieces, so I'm thinking Spyderco had enough materials to go another 600. So they went for it. Good news for us ELUs. :D:thumbup:

Knifeworks says they'll get 60 more in for sale on 6/10. It's supposed to be the last batch, they have it for $105. Good backup site if it's sold out at Spyderco

True, of course, but I never tried D2 and live in a coastal climate, slightly worried it will start rusting. Is this completely unfounded? My RATs (only non-stainless I have) need to get lubed every time after use, otherwise the edge starts pitting right away.

Where is D2 in corrosion resistance compared to 1095? And how about ZDP-189? Going to pick up some of that soon.

I cant decide...should I spend the rapidly dwindling moneys or not?...gah....so tempting...too good to not buy......

"Stainless" is chromium content 12% or higher. CPM-D2 is 11.5%.

I got one. :D

Also just traded into a Digi-camo/black one so I have two coming...

My first plain edge PMs... I'm very excited.

So pretty much stainless is what you're trying to tell me ;) Awesome. I heard it will take a patina, I don't really care about that, it will be a user, just don't want too much maintenance if I can avoid it.
