Bought a Zero tolerance & Benchmade

man I must be unlucky! I never find deals like these hahaha...I'd pay $60 for a ZT any day, remind me I need to stop in every pawn shop I go by.

I just spoke with the guy in the pawn shop that you bought it from and he said that he made a mistake by selling it to you, and he wants you to send it to me. Please email me for my mailing address.

everytime i read these posts i wanna go pawn shopping but i know the wife would kill me if i did...

hahaha aint that the truth, I'm lucky that my wife approved buying this years traditional forum knife...let alone going off and spending hundreds at pawn shops. That said, when I was 17 I found an 80's model Kershaw trooper in a pawn shop for $30...those things still fetch a premium, mine was in rough shape when i got it though and spent ages hand rubbing the blade to a usable condition and had to make a sheath for it.

I am thinking that someone didn't like the tiger stripes and put a black coating on it instead, if they did though they did a really nice job on it.

There was like 7 of these on Ebay a couple days ago. Same deal, totally sterile, except for the clip. I wanted one, (they were going pretty cheap) but it didn't seem kosher somehow.

I have JYD 1720 without production date. There are all other markings, no more differences from other JYDs I have seen on photos, and the quality is great. Just interested why no production date?

awesome deal, and almost certainly "real," in that it's composed of real ZT parts, but I haven't seen a sterile blade on any full production ZT--or the black blade combo with the olive g10, but that might merely be due to some sprint run I missed studying too much.

The born on dating is gone on all newer Kershaws and ZTs. It has been for 1 1/2 or so. Cost savings I believe. There was a post somewhere that said it was because the ATF wanted it stopped, but that sounds a little fishy.

That wouldn't really make any sense....but then again, a lot of things don't make sense.
