Does curling your fingers make you invisible in a "race riot"?It’s always better to learn to avoid encounters than to equip for them. I can’t take a parachute or a knife while flying commercial, so I’m taking a risk everytime I do.
I have “survived” race riots in urban areas by deliberately walking slowly, close to buildings, with my fingers curled to keep attention away from myself long enough to get the hell out of the hood to a safe place.

If this were the W&C forum I'd be tempted to comment that simply being in the same city where a race riot breaks out, doesn't qualify you as being a survivor.

Of course! I should have seen that right away. Curling the fingers focuses ones attention. Especially in "race riots". How could I have missed that!--KV[/QUOTE
Why don’t you just curl off?
I carry a Baton daily in my job. I can tell you even with training in how to use one they are not all that. This is coming from someone that has used one in self defense several times. For personal defense off the job I will stick to a firearm,if I had to use it it would be easier to defend than if I used a Baton. Not to mention I believe they are still illegal for the general public to carry here.
So now I am back to just carrying my kubotan for the coolness factor and my big knife concealed of course.
In all seriousness can you share why this is? like where are you hitting with baton's? Are you hitting the large muscle groups like police and such are taught or are you hitting bone and trying to break a persons thigh or forearm or collar bone or skull? That is the main issue with police baton practice. They need to aim for bones and not muscle groups to get the full effect out of the baton.
Also for anyone who is wondering my expandable baton kind of gave out on me in that the sheath ripped and it is a pain to carry without a sheath. So I have parted out the baton for parts. Not I have 3 steel tubes that I am using for other projects.
Deep down I knew I was just wasting money.
