Has anyone purchased knives from Botach Tactical? I'm having problems getting status on an order that I put in last week and don't know if I should be too concerned or not (they have already charged my credit card).:(

Thanks for the feedback all. I had actually attempted to cancell the order but they did not respond to the cancellation request. I finally got them on the phone today and the salesman took my name and number and called me back and said he was going to personally box and ship the order...we will see and I will let you know. Any ideas on how to get this info out the most effective way so more don't experience this?

Do a search in the forum here called "The Good the Bad and the Ugly." Sorry to tell you, but you've picked a company with one of the worst track records for service. You'll find tons of reading here about how horrible they are. You can also find these reports on Glocktalk.com, Thefiringline.com, and Ar15.com. Sorry, and I hope it works out for you.

BTW- welcome to the forums. Hope this doesn't sour you.

Crap I wish I would have known this before I ordered from them. A couple of months ago I ordered a couple of Inova microlights from them. The immediately charged my credit card. Then I waited two weeks. Then I emailed them. Then I waited. Then they said they had sent my items and here was the tracking number. Only problem was they had sent them someplace in Louisiana despite having my correct address on the bloody email. Finally about two months after my order they got it right. I'll never do business with them again. There are plenty of e-retailers with cheap prices and good service.

dont mean to sound like the one weird one in here, but I have done a number of orders with them and they always come through. I only do buis. with them maybe once a year though.

All, I am back with the rest of the story....almost. Got an e-mail with a shipping/tracking number the day after I talked to the salesman (finally) and it was bogus...not shipped ups said number not valid. Attempted to call several more times...more e-mails (now remember I had cancelled the transaction - and, Botach had charged my credit card prior to processing the order)and lo and behold I got BK Botach himself on the phone. He said he was deluged with orders from all the military folks deploying and they had priority...I can definitely handle that and understand (only this problem they have was way big prior to 9-11)...anyway he offered to overnight my order (which had still not been shipped) and to his credit, the UPS man showed up at my door before I got home today and would not let my teenaged son sign for the knife....another story to be resolved tomorrow I hope...take the advice given in response to my initial question and call...discuss...get the salespeople working for you if you must order from botech tactical but for my money and time...I will pay more and buy here if I can find what I want.

I just received an order I placed with them. I ordered a Spyderco Calypso, Jr and a Camillus EDC folder both with a plain edge. I received a Spyderco Delica with a fully serrated edge and a plain edged Camillus neck knife!!?? And to add insult to injury I was overcharged by 20 bucks, that is billed for what I ordered!! I e-mailed them and they said that my order was correct. I had printed out the page when I ordered and there is no way that it was correct. They e-mailed me a similar page that proved ME right but they don't seem to get it. I had researched them and that they have a legacy of poor customer service but their prices on their website proved to tempting so I placed an order anyways. Guess what? What tempted me to order from them never reached my home!! I got bait and switched. I will write this off as a bad internet shopping experience. I live on the westcoast of Canada and they are in LA, California. Enough energy spent on this. I will not deal with them again and will discourage anyone I know from doing so as well.

I thought about ordering from them but after reading
all the horror stories I decided not to.It's funny
I actually recomended them to a fellow fourmite one
time solely based on price of an item he was looking
for, luckily that person had read GBU and set me
straight.

Have made several purchases, you have to stay on them. Eventually you get your order. Maybe a language barrier.

I ordered a Mission Titanium Sharpener and got two pieces of the EOD probe set. If they had sent the whole set I would have re-ordered the sharpener and kept my mouth shut about the probes.

I buy batteries for the surefires from them.....they are ALWAYS slow. also, make sure you talk to someone who understands what you are saying, there are a number of people on the phone there that have NOT been in this country very long!!

Horrible ATTEMPTED transaction for a set of electronic hearing protectors. Finally got the order cancelled and the charges reversed. I would not buy a $20 bill from them for 50 cents. - Lee

Great prices, slow shipping and terrible service. I always oder on a department PO and if they don't complete the order, they don't get paid until the order is complete. I still have an open PO from January, I don't mind though, I only order stuff that is priced right and not a mission essential item.

It's hard to beat their price on Toshiba lithium 123 batteries, so I took a chance. :D They worked just like a regular mail order company. Even the UPS tracking number was good, and the package arrived on sched this morning.

For basic in-stock items you shouldn't have a problem.

Has anyone purchased knives from Botach Tactical?
No, but not for want of trying. Three times I've tried to buy a La Griffe, and they're either out of stock or whatever. They even sent me an e-mail telling me how important my business is to them, and offered me free shipping--but still no knife.

Sagi, you have resurrected this thread that ran from February 26, 2002 to April 25, 2002. You are way late in thinking to correct anything. That does seem typical of the Botach response we have come to expect, though. We do not appreciate you trying to make a sales pitch here, either.

I purchased some CR123's from them a while back and 70% of them were dead and the rest had a very short life....there customer service SUCKED...PISS POOR...one of the worst i have ever dealt with.

There probably feeling the economy and trying to kiss some a$$ ...bringing up almost a 10 year old thread :jerkit:
