Bought My First Becker

Congrats on the first Becker T. I think you made a good choice. All throughout the developmental part of the tweeners I just couldn't wait on the drop point, later named the BK-16. Then once they came out I started leaning more towards the clip point BK-17 and I think I have settled on it as the one I want. Normally for the money involved I would just buy both and see what's what...but that isn't an option at the moment as unexpected trips to central Florida and back are hurting me financially. It was the similarity to the pilot's knife that hooked me. I have a love hate relationship with the pilot's knife. One kept me alive through several rough months, but I have also had a couple fail at a bad times under a lot of lateral stress. I still have one of my old ones that I'll never part with because of the memories and lessons learned that I don't want to forget, but I think the BK-17 will be a better knife all around.

Nice blade. I think the 17 is going to be my next blade, as I love the lines. BTW, those old survival knives are tough too. Once you get a good sharpening angle on the blade, they hold a pretty good edge.

Congrats on the new blade, IA! You sure do a thorough review, if you're going to give it 6 months. I know you know your gear and I'm anxiously awaiting the new videos on it, if not just to learn how you use this knife compared with my primitive abilities.

I just found out yesterday that most BK9's come with a BK13!!! So you get the king and a smaller fixed blade in one package!

The early runs of KaBar BK9s came with a chinese version of the BK13. But that was a limited thing. The BK13 is sold separately now..but it's made in the USA.

Thanks. I agree, for the price it seems like a solid knife.

Congratulations on your first Becker choice! And as Tylerxp said, "Welcome to the addiction."

Good choice on the 17. We'll be waiting for your review.

Thanks guys. I will do my best to do a fair honest review.
