At least that's what I think they are.

to be honest, i just randomly picked the handle color...didn't know what any of them looked like...it's just that my favorite color is green, so i picked the green/black G10...

but now that i see the pics, i am sure glad i picked the green/black combo...from your pics, i like that combo so much....

thanks for the pics....

i love pics that show off the tang thickness...half you guys in here seem like professional photogs....:D

by the way, does g10 absorb mineral oil like micarta??? i saw a couple of threads with oiled micarta slabs and those sure looke purty...

oh man, you guys are killin me here...

very tempted to get the last remaining ak47....the ak47 is a bigger blade than the ruck, but why is the ruck more expensive??? are they rarer???

Congrats on your first piece of INFI...
be sure to post some pics when that fat beast arrives. :D

Yes the Rucks are rare... they were a very, very limited run.
The AK's were on the Busse Combat site for a while and then
sold thru the company store as well.

Oh, and welcome to the slippery slope... hope you enjoy the insanity. :D

oh man, my finger is on trigger, so to speak...i want the ak47 or ruck sooooo bad, but i had my heart set on a m1a and my tax refund won't allow me to get both...it's either one or the other....i live in california so i really need a battle rifle and the m1a is the only decent option and i am afraid they will be banned soon...decisions decisions....

Exactly right, the Ruck Kensai was a one-time offer, so they are much more limited in number and demand is pushing up the resale.

Welcome to BladeForums and the Wauseon Wasting Syndrome! :D

I've owned the AK and the Ruck Kensei - I prefer the Ruck for it's handyness... Works well on the Ruck! :)

however, seeing as the knife is so thick, is it easy to get a hair shaving edge on these things??? seems it would be kind of hard with the edge geometry given the size and thickness of the blade...

Since they are full height grind, you would be surprised at how drastically the thickness changes from spine to edge.

the edge geometry isnt noticeable different on my fatties than on any other busse i have.

of course, you could sharpen it to a more acute angle. but as it is, getting it shaving sharp is not difficult.

No, the G-10 won't absorb like micarta.

Congrats on your first Busse! I'm sure you'll like it when it arrives:thumbup:

just got my GW today...

what a freakin knife!!! never in my life have i ever handled a knife that felt so solid...it's a small knife, relatively speaking, but it feels great in the hand and there is a satisfying heft to it...

i initially had concerns over its sharpness due to its extreme thickness, but it is hair shaving sharp, so it is no longer a concern...

it has already been scratched so i have that out of the way!!! the scratches got there by sheathing and unsheathing a couple of times...no biggie...i have never owned a safe queen in my life anyways...i will not start now...

the handle is so damn comfortable in every different grip i put it in...standard grip, icepick grip, reverse icepick grip, etc...it seems welded to my hand...

i also noticed that the tip has a little grind on both sides..don't really know how to describe it, but i think it helps in penetration into different materials if needed...

pictures do not due busses any justice...you have to feel the heft to appreciate the knife...

i am about to buy a fbmle as we speak...please talk me out of it....my girl thinks i'm crazy for spending $1000 on two knives...

now the only question i have is, what am i suposed to do with the marble and smirnoff bottlecap that came with my GW??? is there some secret busse method of resharpening that i don't know about???

THANK YOU BUSSE FOR SUCH A GREAT KNIFE!!!

that little grind on both sides of the tip is to help penetration, and is called a penetrator tip.
I traded an AR pistol for my first Busse (a battle mistress) and another custom knife. My wife thought I was crazy for sending the gun to some one I never met.

that stuff is called Skunk Junk (the bottle cap and the marble). The guy who runs the store throws bits of odds and ends in packages he sends. His handle on this forum is Skunk (or Idahoskunk) ergo, skunkjunk
