Bought some new knives

I was downtown today and I bought a pair of large slipjoints. I just couldn’t help myself. They are both made by Zebu of Barretos, São Paulo. I have really grown to love these traditional “Pica Fumo” style Brazilian pocket knives. They have stainless blades but take a really nice edge. They make a great companion to a machete.

The upper knife has an 82 mm blade the lower 90mm. Zebu’s tend to have very stiff springs and no blade play at all.

It is very difficult to find a decent, nationally made small fixed blade knife in Brazil. The Zebu’s are solid workers; I use these for bushcraft tasks a lot. Mac

I do not know if they are sold anywhere but in Brazil. Mac

Wow man. Those are way bigger than I expected! I really like those. Might have to scour around and see if I can snag one somewhere. Thanks man!!

I am a suker for a sheepsfoot. I like small obscure companys like that too.....

I liked these knives enough to make up a belt carrier that also holds a Doan Tool. This is what I wear with my machete often. It carries real nice. The knife is just held in by the tension of the molded leather but I also have a belt clip for added security.

I don't have any of their fixed blades. Mac

wow, those are nice. it is not often that you find a knife that will sacrifice ease of opening for zero blade play. IMO, that is a good trade-off.

I like em even more now, thanks for the in hand shot. Now the question is how many can you take back to the states:D

Don't worry tony, I am trying to work my way down to Brazil. I will ship some back :)
