This past weekend was the Gateway knife show in St. Louis and it was awesome! I bought a custom fixed blade by Jon Landon and three "traditional folders". One stag handled Bertram Hen and Rooster whittler (about 10-15 years old), a stag handled Cripple Creek barlow (blackjack era unfortunately, still a GREAT knife, excellent fit and finish), and finally a stag handled Harry Morris small lockback with ATS-34. Once again, a very nice little knife, most likely to be my new EDC for a while, until I switch to the Hen and Rooster. The CC is just too beautiful to use, I think that I'll just admire it for now. Next year, I will have to get one of Paul Myers knives, too good to be true. Excellent fit and finish, beautiful grind lines, and sharp as hell. I wish I would have saved more cash. Three words: Ivory handled whittler!

Sounds like you really enjoyed the show. Wish there was something like that in our area. NW Pennsylvania is rich in cutlery history but lacks any knife shows at all. To bad there wasn't a way of creating a wish list on line so that others could "look out for those that can't make it" I would gladly pay a finders fee to someone.

I feel your pain as far as knife shows and such go. I live within a couple of hours of the Case, Queen, Kabar, and Camillus factories and as far as selection of retailers and knife shows go, its a wasteland. I can find Bucks and Gerbers galore, SAKS everywhere, and of course tons of China/ Paki stuff. I know of exactly 2 places that carry Case locally, NOBODY carries Queen or S&M, and Kabar and Cam are hit or miss in most places and the selection is usually poor. Thats why most of my purchases are online, although I regret not being able to handle more knives in person. This has led to a few purchases that I wouldn't have made otherwise. The internet and ebay have been my salvation as far as selection have been concerned. I am taking a ride to Bradford this spring, after I get my income tax return, and am going to handpick a couple of knives from the factory store.

Well guys, mark this on your calender.
July 22 and 23 is the Queen Cutlery show in Titusville.
July 21 is factory tour for club members.
This is a really nice show and there are usually some surprises from the factory. bruce

HEY!

You'll love the trip to Bradford. I use to live not to far from it.The collection there is awesome. Question, is the Titusville show just Queen knives or do others attend????

I am not to far from that now.

Thanks
