Given that the bow drill method of firestarting is much easier to learn than other methods (hand drill, fire plow, fire saw, etc.) for someone with limited time does it make sense to just focus on complete mastery of the bow drill under all conditions and just forget about the other methods entirely?

I know some will say that the other methods don't require cordage, but when was the last time you were in the woods without laced shoes or clothing that could be used to make a cord? Not to mention the availability of vines and other makeshift cords.
