hi guys i need some help, does anyone have or ever handled the "bowen belt buckle knife"? i'm thinking of buying one but i don't know if i should...has anyone ever heard of this product? also i heard it's designed by blackie collins... anything will be helpful,thanks...lonewolfblood

Bowen knife co.

I have one. I wear it once in a while. The belt has to become undone to draw it out. Its a neat idea especially the end works as a bottle opener. My blade tip broke and it was repaired good as new for free.

You may want to take a look at the Valois belt knives. IMO, they offer two major advantages over their competition: the belt stays closed when the knife is withdrawn & an actual kydex sheath is built into the belt -- the blade does not simply sit between layers of leather with no protection for the stitching. Here's a close-up of the buckle on mine:

I don't think it's mentioned on the site but the belts are available in a variety of material, from webbing and plain leather to premium leathers such as ostrich. Also, since these are handmade, I imagine Dan Valois would be willing to work with you concerning a customized buckle set up as well.

Go with the Valois belt knife. I have had both the Bowen and the Valois. The Valois is more money, but quality is great and your pants (which is full of knives, gadgets, empty wallet) won't fall down when use the belt knife.
