NOT NOW AVAILABLE -- SEE BELOW--RAY COVER, SR FIGHTER BOWIE - $585 plus $15 shipping within CONUS -- Money order or Paypal, add $19 for Paypal.
CURRENTLY IN THE POSSESSION OF D'HOLDER TO HAVE THE BLEMS REMOVED - ONCE THE BLADE HAS BEEN MADE PERFECT, THE KNIFE WILL AGAIN BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE, BUT FOR $695, UNLESS SOLD AT THE ARIZONA SHOW, TAKING PLACE ON 11/17 & 11/18/07.
Blade - 10" ATS-34, hollow ground, satin finish, 1/4" bladestock, full untapered tang for better balance
Bolsters - Nickel silver, nowhere near the amount of sheathmarks you usually find in "mint" knives
Scales - Outstanding matched scales, wood supplied by Jim Frey of Wild Woods - darker color is a dark green
Grip - The configuration, along with the size, will accomodate the largest of hands. I have small hands, have no problem handling it, but there is room at the end for a couple extra fingers!!
Sheath - by Ray Cover, Sr
Fit and finish - It's by Ray Cover, Sr, meaning fit and finish are outstanding (see below)
Never used, carried, sharpened or stored in sheath.
Ray's production of knives has been decreasing each year, and he hasn't made fixed blades to speak of in years. This Bowie is, in that regard, very special. The tip has some minor blems (marks, not pitting) which could be removed by any knifemaker - see next posting for very good image (I can provide higher resolution to anyone interested) of the area in question . Otherwise, the images tell the story - a real big, beautiful honkin' Bowie.
First to say "I'll take it" or to email me to buy @ rbetznerr@sbcglobal.net gets it.
