This has no wilderness value whatsoever, but I like this forum so I'm doing my giveaway here. Mods can move it if they so chose (as if I have any say!).
I'm giving away a hand forged Bowie. Crazy? Well, maybe. Why? For some reason I just never connected with this knife.
I thought about selling it but it has a couple small flaws: 1) the blade has a slight warp to it. It is very slight and hard to demonstrate, so you'll just have to take my word for it. 2) The handle is mostly gorgeous, but the super-glue varnish has a discoloration in a couple spots so it isn't cosmetically perfect. Otherwise a nice knife. The handle is fairly big, and I generally like that. Blade is just over 7" from hilt to tip. Blade is sharp and shaves.
I think it would be a great knife for a re-enactor. Some pics:
Here's the contest:
I'm grilling brats this evening and step one is to put a cast iron pan on the grill with the brats and some beer in the pan. (Hey, this could work in camp as well, so maybe there is some wilderness value here.) To win this Bowie, you need to guess the beer I'm using to cook the brats in.
The brats:
The RULES:
1. You must be 18 years-old and legally able to own a Bowie knife
2. First person to correctly guess the beer wins the Bowie.
3. The guess must be specific, e.g. Corona Light. (I know, Corona Light isn't really a beer, but it's just an example.)
4. One guess per W&SS member per day
5. I'll cover shipping if you also post your favorite Brat recipe.
Bon Appetit!
