I just completed this one. I can't call it a bowie because it does not have a double guard which would take a lot longer to make and I would have to charge more.

Steel: ATS34 heat treated to Rc 58-60 by D'Alton Holder. Cryogebic quench.

Handle material is stabilized curly maple.

OAL is 11 inches and the blade is 6 1/8 inches.

High polish finish.

Hand sewn leather sheath.

$150 plus $6 shipping to the lower 48. Accepting Paypal, check or moner order.

Here are now! I pushed the wrong button and submitted too soon.

Cool, though you realise that the first bowies didn't have gaurds at all?;) Call it a bowie, that's what I'd call it. Love the shape and that saber grind is awsome.

I suspect that the first bowies were butcher knives but wouldn't want to confess those thoughts to the die hard bowie collectors. Thanks for taking the time to view my work.

LOL.
I suspect you are correct.
Bowie was a Texan and his knives surely needed to be capable of dressing cattle and big game.

Just recieved my knife in the mail. Wow! It looks much better in my hand than in the pictures. Great job. Thank you very much! RT
