What handle shape do you think works best on a 12-13 inch bowie?

For a wood handle check out some of Matt Lamey's.

Just saw, this is your second time to ask without waiting very long. What's up? Are you making a knife and in a bind or what.I just ask because if you are close enough I'll help if I can.

sorry, must have sent the same thing twice. I am ordering a bowie and the handle is usually a round type, yet I prefer the shaped flat sided type with a broad sorta m shape on the finger part of the handle, just wondering what other people think

I've always loved coffin handles...but I guess that doesn't really factor in functionality. A sub-hilt is good for control and penetration when fighting. I hate finger grooves, with a fiery passion.

I am a fan of coffin handles as well, not sure what it is about their looks I find appealing but I do and they are comfortable to handle IMO

Depends on weight. I don't like flat-handled knives much on heavy knives, but I like round rubber handles like those found on my Ka-bar Large and Heavy or my Ontario Marine Raider on just about everything. The latter has a hilt.

I like my Marine Raider also. have modified the blade somewhat.
