Robert, Thats a good looking Bowie.

I too love ironwood, in fact I complain when someone wants another wood on thier knife.

I'm partial to maple burl or amboynia burl myself but now I have to get some of that ironwood myself. Great looking knife Robert.

Thats an awsome knife, the iron wood realy goes well with the overall desighn.

How did you finish the iron wood? I've not used a lot of woods, and I understand that you can't stablize ironwood?

Will,
Sand to a 1200 grit, buff lightly W/ Green Chrome, Finish - Very lightly with Scratchless Pink on a loose Buff. Butter smooth;)
It is an oily wood so it won't stabilize, doesn't need it.

Thanks Robert, how well does it hold up for a user, dosn't most natural woods turn black over time and use? I guess that is one fear that is stoping me from useing more wood.

Another nice knife Robert. I really like ironwood also.
Keep hoping I can find a nice set of grips in it for my S&W M60.
Regards,
Greg

Robert, that's a nice piece of ironwood with a great new home. And one fantastic flat grind..

Dave

That knife is a good looker very nice job, Ironwood
is almost as indistructable as Marcarta it is one of
the best, just make sure that you use a mask, you
won't forget after the first whif fo grinding dust.
Gib

Looks like a helluva whacker there bubba! How'd you do the guard? It looks like two pieces of nickel-silver with a spacer?

I redid an ESEE 4 with Ironwood, I love the stuff!

Dude! As I was scrolling down and saw Tracy Mickley I was suprised that he was still around... then I saw the date.

This post is 10 years and 10 days old!

Good looking wood, by the way.

Too funny, I didn't even notice the dates! I came across the post via Google. Oh well.
