Combat Bowie

It's 17. 15/16" overall and weighs 30 oz.
The blade is 1095 spring steel 12. 7/8" X 1. 7/8" X 1/4" thick.
The guard, bolster, and pommel sides are 1018 steel WELDED
to the full tang.

The handle is 4. 13/16" long with scales of Curly Maple.
The sheath is 10 oz. leather with black steel rivets and a
black steel snap. There are attachment points front and back
for adding a leg tie (not incl.) etc.
It's cemented at the spacer and hand stitched
using doubled waxed nylon saddle stitching thread making for an
extremely rugged, rough use sheath.

The rough beveled blade is reheated in the forge to glowing red
and quenched in strained used motor oil. After it's cleaned of slag
it's brought back up in temp. until it can be struck with a file.
I leave the file marks showing. I like a handmade knife to look
handmade.
This is how I harden / tempor my blades. They hold an edge
extremely well.

Thank you.
I dropped the price quite a bit on this looking for
a quick sale.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

dang it! Love that knife, as usual with your unique and exceptional uber-bowies . . . . alas new kitchen countertops are demanding all my knife funds for a while

Thanks for the compliments.
Still unsold! Maybe it's time for smaller blades.

I really like your style is there something written on the top side of the guard? Thankyou for your time.
That's just some staining from the slag after heat treat. Kinda lets you know where it's been.

Thanks again,
Mike

This is the last long bladed version I'll make.
8" - 10" blades from now on.
