I was going to offer him a Randall 12-8 Bear Bowie, til I got to that parttoo bad you ruled out the $500 jobs -- there are some nice customs out there in the $400-650 range.
I’m looking for a clip point tapering toward point. How big? Tapering toward the point or widening near the point?
Clip, spear, or trailing point?
I’ve always known a Bowie to be a large clip point for huntingWhat do you think a bowie knife is? Is it a large blade, or a knife with a clip point?
Randall’s are very nice! But out of my price rangeI was going to offer him a Randall 12-8 Bear Bowie, til I got to that part
Those AGs are very nice! And RIP to AG RussellI love my AG Russels.

I agree, though not a true to history Bowie knife, it is what most of us think of nowadays as a Bowie knife, a decent sized hunter with a nice stylish clip point. Puma makes a nice’un.....Lots of choices, and I'm no expert but I'm partial to Puma. View attachment 1011396
