Hello I’m looking for a new Bowie knife, any suggestions? I’m not brand oriented, and price doesn’t really have a limit, just not crazy $500 or $1000 knifes lol.

How big? Tapering toward the point or widening near the point?
Clip, spear, or trailing point?

I’m sure you’ve already done a Google search on what you might be looking at, post up some pictures of examples or brands you might be interested in.

too bad you ruled out the $500 jobs -- there are some nice customs out there in the $400-650 range.

What do you think a bowie knife is? Is it a large blade, or a knife with a clip point?

May not be a traditional brand, but Spyderco’s Respect Bowie looks like a traditional Bowie to me. A little under $400 is what they sell/sold at. I don’t know when they’ll be available or if they’ve come and gone already, though.

cold steel Laredo, Natchez, and/or Frontier Bowies are pretty nice.
if you can find it, the old Gerber bowie with the coffin handle was cool.
So was the original Blackjack Knives Warner-Moran Bowie.

Buck 124 or KaBar Big Brother Bowie.
I also like the Becker Bk9, if you want to explore custom wood or micarta grips and upgrade the sheath you can build something very nice and useful.
