Lots of choices actually....
Start by looking at a Cold Steel Trailmaster,
or their bowie.
also, SOG tigershark.
Do you want a fighter or user or a little bit of both?
TOPS has a few big users.
Check out the Armageddon model.
When you say 15", I'm going to assume you mean with the handle.

fighter and user with handle

im going to look at there knifes

The very best you will find is the Camillus Fisk OVB Bowie,
excellent for slicing, cutting, and using.
The only down side (slight)
is that it's not stainless.
note there are two sizes,
and you probably want the bigger one.
IF you want to pay a little less,
the becker 9" blade (knife is longer)
has really excellent steel.
It's also not stainless, but it is coated.

And by the way,
welcome aboard.
.
And that knife you suggest we look at,
forget it,
it's junk.
(sorry)

OMEGA DOOM, that E-bay knife says "Rambo" :D Fuggedaboudit!

Check out Cold Steel fixed blades. For real heavy use, check out Becker Knife & Tool -- look at the Patrol Machete or the 9" Combat/Utility. Look at Ontario with their Ontario Randall Knives, Ontario Spec Plus, and Blackwind Swords.

There's a lot more when you have too much money to spend, but any of these would be a good start.

An excellent deal on a bowie knife that you're looking for is
Entrek knives.
Very tough.
and almost ridiculously inexpensive,
for the quality.

somthing hmmm 100$

i don't want that sharp of a knife

somthing for like killing a hog with or fighting some ******* and cuting meat and going in salt water with

a knife like that will cut my own hand off

Entrek.
check out ebay.
It's over $100,
but you're not going to get a decent knife that size for
under, unless you find a really, really good deal.
Perhaps consider posting on the knives:Wanted to Buy forum.
and describe what you're looking for.
good luck.

Read that thread on why a sharp knife is safer.
It is. Really.
And be careful!!!!
It is highly recommended that you use a landyard or
military cord or whatever around your wrist while you're cutting.
Most larger knives have a hole at the bottom for exacly this reason.

i had all kind of knifes fall on my feet
lets just say im realy cut up in my work

top this off i don't ware shoes ever!

Here's a quote:
(I pulled this up using the search option, learn to use it, it's VERY handy)
G'day Frag, hope this info helps. The Dundee knife used in both movies was designed and made by New South Wales gunsmith John Bowring. The design was inspired by the Puma bowie, to which John added a few ideas of his own. In all six bowies wre made, most of which were safe aluninium props. I have paraphased this info from Keith Spencers "Guide to Australian Custom Knives" second edition.
Keith may be able to help you further. Contact him at
spencer@akc.iinet.net.au Have a knife day, Peter.
.
You don't want to pay for a custom job, it'll be at least $800
So, check out the Puma Bowie, but it really isn't that cool.
Good Luck.
Here's the Puma:

... and then ...

Any decent large knife is going to be really sharp and the owner will keep it really sharp and may make it even sharper. The Beckers are good knives and they are less than $100. But my question is why pay for a knife if you don't want a sharp one?

I have no idea what brand name was on Croc' Dundee's knife, who cares, it was just a prop anyway and the Becker BK-7 or BK-9 are good knives which will serve you well (if you want a knife that will cut). If you don't want a knife that will cut, don't buy a knife.

That's a good start.
Again, it has high carbon steel, which means it'll be strong, but rust-suspectible, BUT it has a coating on it, make sure you keep it dry, and oil the edge a bit, so you don't have to resharpen it if it rusts. And even though it has strong steel, that fine tipe can still bust off, so be a little careful, although it really shouldn't be that big of a deal to resharpen the tip.
Let us know how you like it.
