I must admit that I have always loved bowie knives. But lately my knife bug is burrowing and biting me harder than usual and demands satisfaction. :D

I wish I had gotten a hold of chinook3 when I had the chance:(, but the best folding options out now that I see is the Emerson CQC-13/16 maybe on design from benchmade if the endorsement is good enough.

Does anyone have any folding bowie recommendations? Fixed blades are also welcomed (I am digging that buck hoodlum which I have to have for extended camping trips) . For approx 200-250 or less, with adjustments being made depending on how much I like it. ;)

IMHO, Bowies and folders are two different types of knife.

For real quality user Bowies look to Bark River.

I mostly meant the general style in blade shape. Ive heard good things about bark river. Like their gunny model.

Find yourself an old beat up Western W49 and fix it up :)

There is one on the Cutting Edge for a fair price :)

HAd the Chinook and sold it, and now regret it. I currently have CQC-13 that is EDC'ed and used hard, and would recommend it.
