BOWIE WITH A TWIST ( or 2 )

hey mate, very nice looks almost good enough to sale, but since it is quite there yet you should just send it to me. I promise not to show it toanybody you know.

Damascus is really well done on both, as is the overall execution of the knives. Personally, I like the bowie a little better - for some reason that overall package just "hits me" right :D

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year down under!

Bill

Keith,

Just love your Bowie, mate !
I think it's fantastic, killer piece of stag, damascus is mega-COOL and the contrast in the furniture is exquisite !

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year !

Haha, its already gone mate! I can make you one if you want! Thanks Bill have a great and safe Xmas and New Year. Ya never know I might see you in Atlanta next year.
Cheers Keith

Thanks so much Bill and Doug. My customer wanted it as a user, but he has decided to keep it in his collection ( what the ) so he's ordered one in carbon steel. I'm thinking W2 with a hamon. Wish I had another piece of stag like that one!
Cheers Keith

Derrick - duly noted. December is clearly bowie month! Keith - everything Derrick said goes for me - terrific work. Please check in on Boxing Day for the Best Bowie thread. If this knife isn't nominated on day 1, I'll nominate it myself.

PS - on a user, I prefer a clean satin finish to a fancy hamon. Much easier to maintain.

You need to go dig through BB's stash. Oh make sure he's not home if you want the good stuff. It would be great to see you in Atlanta. Merry xmas happy NEW year

Thank you very much RogerP. I'll tune in thats for sure. Now I think about it a satin finish would probably be better, maintainence wise. just love hamons, I think I have an addiction to them at the moment. Thanks again.

Well heres the thing Bill, Big Bad picked me up some handle materials while he was at Blade last Year and this piece was one of them. When he saw the blade finshed and held it he said he should have kept that piece. Hey you know he's a material pig don't ya Ha ha. (cheers Bruce) All the best mate.

yeh I was along there with him. and you should see the stuff he kept for himself.

I would take either of those, and hide in a dark cave under a mountain, whispering "My Precious" over and over while I fondled them!

Both are great to my eye. I like a long dagger, so that is right up my alley. The original pic was not showing, but I scrolled to your re-post. I like everything about that bowie too!

OK I see the Bowie now. Nobody exaggerated here. A near perfect example of what a Bowie should be.

Oh dear! Thanks mate. I know how you feel, I have the same affliction and loving it.
Cheers keith

I cant' see the first picture but that damascus dagger is awesome. I love the grinds ont hat and as a non-knife maker I bet the longer the blades get the harder it is to keep those grinds straight.

Thanks Red; The longer it is the harder it gets. I love that.
I recall a statement from Winston Churchill. A woman at a function said , Sir you are drunk! And his reply was. Yes I am drunk Madam, and you are Ugly, but tomorrow I will be sober!
