Recommendation? Bowie with sharpened clip.

Perhaps I just missed something, but the OP was looking for 6-9 inch Bowie style blade, preferably with a sharpened clip. The SC is a 4-1/2" drop point, not even a swedge. It doesn't fit the parameters the OP laid out. Had he been asking about an EDC using knife, the SC would be my heartfelt recommendation. Big fan of J. Fisk, and his knives. Poor boy me can't afford one, even on a good day. But I also have a Blackjack Magnum Camp Knife, another Fisk design. 440C, 1/4" thick, 9" blade, as well as a Kabar/Becker BK-5, the evolution of the design. Maybe you should ask Jerry Fisk how HE classifies the Sendero? I've heard him say that the Sendero is the best all-around using knife he's ever designed. I'm inclined to agree.

But one thing it is NOT is a Bowie.

EDIT: Sorry, but I don't do pictures. Mine looks like any other Sendero Classic with black/maple Richlite handle and a hand-rubbed satin finish, and the scars from a year and a half as a box knife, among other duties.

There is at least one Randall authorized dealer ;) that sells at retail, no markup.

He has 2 Bowie’s with sharpened clips available now that you’d have in your hands in a week.

unfortunately even without markup they are above your budget. But they would be worth every penny if you could stretch.

You may want to google “Buxton Fighter” it’s probably my favorite Randall design while not listed as a Bowie it has the look. It’s a dealer special only sold by one specific Randal authorized dealer ;)

hhmoore: That's a beautiful knife, man. The only thing keeping this from being a thread asking which Randall I should get is the wait times being absolutely off the chain. For.... VARIOUS reasons I won't get into here, I'm not making any extremely long-term plans, unless things start getting better, which I don't think is happening.
Did you check out the link I posted? It's sold now; but he might be open to making another.

I did, but it had sadly sold by the time I got home from work. Perhaps next time I'll be there in time, if not, that's too bad for me, but time makes all things possible, I'll find what I'm after eventually!

I like the FOX Trekking Bowie I bought for $141 tax included. Yes you would have to sharpen the top swedge but I cannot complain. Midwest supply on EBAY are authorized dealers and have their own site if you dislike EBAY.

Thanks for that suggestion.

I'm sure I could either sharpen it myself on a stone, or find somebody on the board that knows how to use paper wheels or who offers professional sharpening services, so that's no biggie, really.

This thread has been good, I've got many suggestions for excellent blades now, some with what I want out the box, some I'd need to work on a bit, but would make excellent users...
