Bowie with Stacked Leather Handle.

Thanks for the hamon explanation Stuart, i hope you will post the crazy hamon's brother soon :)
Nice touch the stacked dropped handle!!!

To anyone interested....it balances about 1" in front of the guard....I'll always know where the tip is pointed in a darkened room. ;)

You lucky DOG! What a piece. BTW, don't forget Jerry Fisk's advice on pointing that tip. ;)

Congrats!

Thanks. The toughest part of the stacked leather handle is that I made it for a dropped handle. Most leather stacked handles are straight. This one drops so I had to glue up the stack with a radius. It might be hard to see but you'll notice that the lines of the individual leather washers are not parallel but radial.. That way there's no wedge shaped piece where it mates with the butt cap.

And THIS is the difference between a simple tool and a masterpiece! It's all in the details... I probably wouldn't have even thought about that. Great work

Hello!

Stuart - great looking Bowie! The leather was a perfect choice, really completes the look!

Dudley - congratulations! (if I read correctly...)

All the best,
Alex

Super balance of ruggedness and elegance! The stacked leather is great and I bet would look better and better with use.

I really like the old school vibe to this piece. Well done Stuart and congrats to Dudley!
