Its so nice to see someone post something affordable. As far as what I think

1. I wish the guard did not sweep up to a point, but rather an oval, both top and bottom. Also it looks dirty, like its unfinished or something, unless you were aiming for the rustic/Armageddon look.

2. The handle also, swoops down too much for my taste, (angled) I like them more straight, cause when I choke up to the guard to do finer work, my hand feels like Im only able to squeeze the first inch of my palm unto the handle, which is fatiguing, as opposed my whole hand, which is more comfortable.

I understand the esp. the far end of the handle being angled is supposed to aid in chopping, but in my experience I dont find that it does jack. How good of a chopper knife is, has more to do with the grind, length, weight,etc.. of the knife. Not handle.

3. The little far end of the edge could be a little rounded, instead of a straight 45 degrees, something like what Milan Mozolic does, or even Jason Knight. Looks better, and I doubt it takes more than 2 minutes to round off.

4. The blade shape hearkens to me more of a camp knife than bowie.

5. The blade is much nicer than the handle. Id rather see some nice wood on it.

Other than that..

1. The hamon is really wicked

2. The blade length/thickness is right on the money

3. The fuller is great, not sure why it looks dirty tough

4. The sheath is nice as well.

p.s. dont give me an infraction for voicing my opinion. You asked ME a question, I gave you an answer.

No problem what so ever! I think ill have to agree with you on most of those! haha I had a different plan for this knife entirely but things kinda went south. I had an expensive piece of ironwood for the handle and i cracked it.. twice! This will be my second knife ever with a guard so im still working on getting that process down.
I definitely plan to make this knife again but a little more "classy!"

Thanks again!

That blade shape is Uber freaking gorgeous. Damn. More of that, count me in as a customer!

You work with any other steels? A matching set with a 5 inch blade and 9 inch blade would be amazing.

Very nice Levi. Whoever bought it got excellent value. I like Levi's work very much. Like many other makers, he doesn't spend excessive time on the finishing work. Saves the buyer money. Ergonomically pleasing. Blade to handle ratio provides a secure grip and good balance. If you want fluff-free value, you'll never regret buying his knives.

I think that looks pretty badass! As far as someone saying it looks unfinished - sometimes a Bowie needs that rustic look! This just makes me want to use that. I really like what you've done with it!

I really like the combination of materials/finishes on this knife. Honestly, I prefer micarta or G10 for any knife that's going to get used in the outdoors. If it's going to be collected and not used, by all means go with the most exotic burl you can find, but for a user give me a synthetic like canvas micarta every time.
I think you nailed it...that's a serious knife, not a wall-hanger or safe queen. I absolutely love it; if I'd seen it sooner it'd be mine.
