This one is still a work in progress. I had a stainless steel, coin edge oval guard on originally but for some reason decided to make a different one.
First time making a decorative guard like this and I'm a little unsure of it.

7 1/4" hand satin finish 1095 blade
Aged Silicon bronze guard and spacers
Stabilized Box Elder Burl handle
12" o.a.l.

I'd appreciate your opinion,
Thanks for looking,
Dave

The sheath and the knife look great! I would be very proud to own it! Don't put yourself down you shouldn't be unsure of this knife or sheath they are both beautiful.

That is a beautiful knife and sheath. The handle wood is out of this world, and the antiqued bronze guard complements it beautifully. Excellent work!

Beautifully done, all the way. My eye tells me the guard is just a tad too small (proportionallly), but I love the shape and the filework of both it and the spacer.

I agree with all of the previous posts. Don't change anything. I would love to own this combo.

Dave that knife is stunning! The guard is stunning! It works real well on that knife.
The sheath is sumptuous organic gorgeous...
I love that hammered pin.
Nice touch all....
Great package Dave!
Don't change a thing.... absolutely not!

My jaw just dropped to the floor, that should say something about how beautiful your work is! Trust me, that is one of the most beautiful knife/sheath combos i've seen in a long long time.

Dave consistently gets both the big things and the little things right. This is a terrific package. Love the detailing of the guard, the blade shape and the gorgeous wood you chose for the handle. Add in an aboslutely top shelf sheath, and its smiles all around.

Roger

PS- I hope we'll see some more larger pieces like this from you down the road.

Fantastic work Dave. The blade looks nice and clean, but it is the handle and fittings that blow me away. The combination of aged silicon bronze and box elder is stunning and your execution appears top-notch. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

your self analysis is very impressive, and so are the fruits of your efforts. No doubt they go hand in hand.

Dave ..........all the parts combine to make an exceptionally good lookin' package, including the sheath. I like the beautiful balance and movement in the knife design, the material selection, and particularly your flawless execution. In my opinion, the silicone bronze guard and spacers was a nicely conceived upgrade. You are a true "artist" sir!

impressive knife. I'm getting more and more interested in bronze for fittings based on some of the awesome stuff posted recently!

Dave,
As all have said, that is another outstanding package, as is!!!
Just had the one out I got from you a few years back... I could tell from the pic of this new one right away it was your work!
Good to see you're back in the shop!
