You got me by half an hour on this one Dennis. Great score

Sheer luck, my friend. I had done my daily back-ups and was ready to put the computer to sleep for the evening and thought .... "let me just give the exchange a quick look see" .... and wouldn't you know it!!! Took one look at the blade and the fact that the box elder coloring and grain is almost buckeye burl-like. To top things off, the size is perfect. Wasn't even going to think about it for a while!

Anyway, as always ... kudos to Alan. Anxiously awaiting its arrival. For those who pop by this and other sales threads of Alan's ..... you have to try one of his knives. Each has its own unique personality. Trust me, you will love his work. Recently gifted a friend of mine one of Alan's knives. He was impressed beyond words.

What he just said. Times ten. And I wouldn't have waited either

Beautiful knife....do you by any chance make left handed folders?

Alan...and here I knew you as a mere fledgling mortal a few yrs ago...and now look at what you've done. You're risen so high in this field that I'm a'feared it's short on oxygen up there.
You have a beautiful piece here, Alan. So very impressive; such a nice job. Good for you. Any man would be proud to own this.

Don ..... and I certainly am!! Sometimes it's easy to get wrapped up in the overall beauty of a knife. This is no exception. I hope no one missed what an absolutely OUTSTANDING job Alan did on the blade. Rob Calcinore's Damascus is beautiful in and of itself. BUT, the way Alan cut and shaped the blade from the billet ... making the design almost wrap around both sides of the blade evenly is nothing less than fantastic. I don't have very many Damascus blades that possess the same symmetry. Just amazing. I have posted these in other sections, but here are a few pics which illustrate what I mean.
