Box handles?

How do you go about making the box handle bowies? Like the California makers of Old San Francisco..M. Price and Will&Finck

Well Mike you see you start with a pile of 2x4's a bag of nails a saw and a hammer

Just kidding which handle are you trying to do?Some of these handles are very detailed and some arent that bad.Steven Rapp does them very well and a while back Blade magazine had one that was in pieces so you could see all the pieces that went into making one.If you would like I will try to find the picture and e-mail you a scan of it.I can ask Alex Daniels how to do the one you want and relay the instructions as this is the type of Bowies that he does and is trying to teach me how to do......Bruce

Bruce, yeah I'd like that. I tried the 2X4 type, but I have trouble with pounding in the nails without bending them.
