Boxcutters and knives are illegal in airports so...

About a montha ago I was at the Newark airport and I remember being in a store and seeing a boxcutter on the counter. More importantly, there were several Port Authority officers in the store who could clearly see the box cutter and they ignored it. I suspect this kind of things happens in many airports. The reality is that people cannot effectively function over long periods without cutting tools. I'm pretty sure that lots of utility knives and scissors are being ignored by security all over the United States provided that the people using them are known and trusted airport workers.
