Found this in an old building I was hired to clean out. Boy Scouts stamp on the cheek ( does it have cheeks if its one piece?🤔) and a patent number. However where the name is stamped its to boogered up from hammering and rust. I plan to restore it and make some nice walnut handle slabs. 20210724_154423.jpg20210724_154440.jpg20210724_154459.jpg
Thanks for looking, I'll post pics when I get it all fixed up, but it may be awhile lol

The three immediately below the boy's axe are my oldest (1929-1937), with the top one of those three being my most recent addition. Each of the two haft photos show logos stamped in the wood that support the notion that they are original, but they are hard to read in the photos. I love finding BSA hatchets/axes in good condition, and I'm anxious to see your Bridgeport reconditioned. T-A

First great collection of fine tools, unfortunately this past year my wife spent most of the year in the hospital. She was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, while being treated for that they found cancer. She's much better now but still in physical therapy for the gbs. So many of my projects were put on hold including this hatchet. But now thats she's allot better I'll get to it soon I hope. I'll definitely take pics and upload them 👍
Thanks for the interest

Your wife is certainly your top priority! Our best wishes and prayers for her. I'm looking forward to seeing updates on your hatchet project, because then I will also know that your wife is doing well. Best of luck, T-A

Still have mine. The body is black, the handle is a natural finish except for the end which is painted red about an inch up from the end.
Got mine in the 50s.

Misplaced Hillbilly Misplaced Hillbilly the-accumulator the-accumulator It's great seeing the original handles on these BSA choppers.

Here's an 'Official Scout Axe of Canada' that I hafted using a new House Handle. I don't know the vintage or maker of the head.

That's a wonderful piece that would be right at home amongst my BSA choppers. I will definitely put one of those on my shopping list. I'm thinking that that's a pretty rare bird in my neck of the woods! Thanks for sharing. T-A
