Hi,
I have a BS 6-18 surface grinder. There is no spindle lock and I need a wrench to hold the spindle when changing wheels. Any suggestions?

There is a company named Sopko that makes all sorts of spindle adapters, wheel hub and wrenches for surface grinders.

You use a spanner wrench hooked to a hole in the back of the spindle adapter and wedged against the wheel guard. I have the same machine and that is how I do it. I did have to make my own spanner but that is pretty easy. The attached picture is from an old manual showing the process.
