Boycott "Pay it Forward"

Hey Razor,
how did you know I was wearing my stockings? The camera was off!

This is obviously something you feel strongly about, and it really is something (U.S. gun and knife laws) that Americans will have to sort out for themselves, I've no wish or interest to take part in your debate. The media sometimes reflects public opinion and sometimes leads it and I think that's how it should be.

I'm sorry you seem to have such a downer on your film industry, I happen to think it's a world leader and makes the best films bar none. John Ford, Scorcese, Tarantino even pinko cross-dressers like Ed Wood ('Plan 9 from Outer Space'), who shared a hobby with J. Edgar Hoover by the way.

What I'm getting down to is when it comes to films, books, acting, even sport I personally will not be making any major decisions based on what some actor or director thinks or says about knives. If you think that boycotting a film
like this is going to mean you can hold on to your cutlery or handguns I think you may be in for a shock.

P.S. Having done some research I understand 'Pay it Forward' is actually about helping people, but I've only read the reviews, I might post a review after I’ve seen it.

I agree with you -- the U.S. film industry does produce the finest movies in the world, and I'm a big movie fan (check out the internet movie database sometime -- http://www.imdb.com , I think). I just don't appreciate it when movie stars use their fame as a platform for political beliefs which seek to do me harm, as any attempt to take my liberty would.

Some of the movie stars that are the worst Commie Pinko offenders are actually among the best actors, and I can appreciate them as such. Go figure.

Cheerfully,

Razor

And tomorrow when you wake up it will be worse.

Having been dragged into "Pay It Forward"---it's really a chick flick---all I can say is...

Here's a great review:

On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised with "Girlfight", despite the odious name. I think it is a rare positive portrayal of the martial mindset, even if there is no knife content

HMMMM, I consider myself a leftist sort of person, own guns and knives, don't worry too much about "commies", (they didn't exactly take over the world, mostly lost it) and think for myself. I guess that makes me a "commie" too?
(heavy sigh)
Labels are easy to pin on, but are just arbitrary labels none the less.
I don't hate conservatives, they're just people with a different point of view, at least, that's what my parents taught me.
