Does anyone know what Cobalt alloy Boye is using? For those that have commented that it is not as sharp as steel, does this refer to the NIB edge or is it based on sharpening experience? If it is the latter what hones were used? How does Dendritic Cobalt and 440C compare?

He didn't tell yet, but it should be close to stellite 6K. Please keep in mind: Stellite is a trademark of Deloro, so "stellite" may bear another name. Talonite, e.g.

Cliff, I have the Prophet. It does not "feel" as sharp as BG-42, but seems to hold the edge longer and cut as well as BG-42 on both push and draw cuts. I have not tried "abusing" the edge, but staples and edge nicks (dents) sharpen right out.

Fish,
Do you have the custom or production model? Also what type of bevel does it have (hollow, flat?) and how do you sharpen yours? Sharpmaker?

Thanks,

Greg
