I have just received a New in the box from a dealer a Brad Southard Polk that has a noticeable difference in the anadized color of the front vs the back scale. This knife was manufactured on 8-16-2016 but was just sold to me by one of the large reputable dealers. Has anyone else run into this problem?

anodizing is sometimes very hard to get an even color on. And finger oils will further blur the color and make it not match. Even if cut from the same metal and colored in the same bath. I have had many knives that the color didn't match perfect.

You should ask this question to the said "large reputable dealer".

I attemp to buy all of my knives from the respective Maker and have not run into this problem.

I just received the knife this morning a Saturday and will contact the dealer on Monday. I expect that I can return the knife and possibly get a different knife that they have looked at prior to sending it to me or refund my money. We will see.

Added Monday morning, dealer agreed to accept knife return and will ship me a bronze color as all the blue knives have this side to side difference. No cost to me

Thanks for the imput. The color of the two scales is so very different that I wouldn't think that any reputable maker would release this particular knife. I'm quite sure that the dealer does not examine all incoming knifes. Based upon interaction with them many times previously they assume that maker does their own QA and only provides knives that meet the makers quality requirements. In this particular case my quality requirement has not been meet. I was only concerned if this had been a known issue in general with others that have purchased this knife.

Well. Regardless of what others will weigh in with i think you habe determined you are not satisfied. And i know all too well that these things can eat at you if you attempt to ignore them. I would return it. Now getting another is where the real question lies. Can you get one with no color?

I believe that the dealer take knife back as I am a good customer. I will ask them to look at any remaining knives of this color to see if others are the same or if some have scales that match better. So perhaps I can get another knife this color. They also have another color which might be an option

I've taken a couple photos but as a new member I can see how to add photos to this site. Can you help?
