I really like this little Shobu Kozuka, by Gary Bradburn. Clay tempered blade and Black wrap over Bamboo panels. Thanks!

Thanks JP.
I ordered one more from Gary. A Sukoshi hira-zukuri with a 3 3/4 blade, Hemp Cord under-wrap with Black over-wrap. I'll post a pic . Thanks.

I've got a Guardian Elite from Gary that's been in the carry rotation for about three years now, and it's been an awesome knife. Tough as nails, cuts like the dickens, and still looks good to boot...you can't ask for any more from a knife.;) Mine has brown over green ray skin with a bronze dragonfly menuki. I had Gary minimize the handle as much as possible for easier carry, and it came out absolutely perfect. Feels like the handle was molded to my hand. It's definitely a "keeper".

Gary has a policy of providing a free handle rewrap once a year, and I think that's a cool policy. Kind of like getting new, different looking knife once a year if you change up the handle colors, while still retaining the "feel" of a familiar blade.

One of these days I want to get a Guardian Ichiban somewhere down the road. What I'd REALLY like to see would be one in a sort of semi-integral version in the same vein as one of Don Fogg's cord wrapped gent's/utility knives, but then again I'm a sucker for anything asian influenced, integral, and cord wrapped!;)

JJ---Thanks! Great post. Gary's knives are soo sharp!
In more ways than one. :)

Jeeze man you are on fire! If you ever have a surplus of these fines Japanese knives don't hesitate to send some my way for testing ;) :D

3M---I just sent you my most expensive blade. Don't bang it up too much!! ;)

Hello all... I haven't been by here in quite awhile and thought I better stop in and say thanks to everyone for the compliments. I appreciate it.

Lycosa, glad you like your new neck knife. John Johnson, Thanks for the compliments and you should check my newest addition to the Guardian line. I call it the "Mongoose". Sharp and fast with the shobu blade cross section.
